TheEstimating Manager – Industrial/Manufacturing is responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates for competitive bids and negotiated proposals while supporting preconstruction strategy and project execution. This role plays a critical part in identifying cost efficiencies, improving project profitability, and delivering high-quality estimating outputs aligned with organizational standards.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience inconstruction estimating, industrial/manufacturing projects, and preconstruction processes, along with the ability to collaborate with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients.
Key Responsibilities
Estimating & Preconstruction
- Performquantity takeoffs from drawings and specifications
- Preparedetailed cost estimates for bids and proposals
- Developmaterial, labor, and cost summaries
- Maintainaudit trail of estimates and documentation
- Analyze projectscope, schedule, and logistics for accurate costing
Vendor & Subcontractor Coordination
- Supportbid solicitation and pricing coordination
- Distribute plans and specifications to vendors/subcontractors
- Develop and managescopes of work for all trades
- Coordinatebid day activities and summaries
Project Collaboration & Strategy
- Work closely withoperations, field teams, and stakeholders
- Assist in developingcost-effective construction strategies
- Supportproject logistics, staging, and phasing plans
- Contribute toprocurement presentations and planning
Process Improvement & Profitability
- Identifyvalue engineering opportunities
- Improveproject profitability through cost optimization
- Apply understanding offees, insurance, and cost structures
- SupportLean construction principles and methodologies
Leadership & Development
- Providetraining and mentorship to junior team members
- Build strong relationships withclients, vendors, and internal teams
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree inConstruction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred)
- Minimum3+ years of estimating experience
- Total5+ years of construction experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of:
- Construction drawings and specifications
- Quantity takeoffs and cost estimation
- Industrial / manufacturing construction projects
Required Skills
- Proficiency inconstruction estimating software
- StrongExcel and MS Office skills
- Knowledge ofconstruction methods and field operations
- Ability to develop:
- General requirement estimates
- Scope of work for trades
- Stronganalytical and problem-solving skills
- Effectivecommunication and presentation skills
- Experience with tools such asRevit, Lens, ASE (preferred)
- Knowledge ofLean construction principles
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience inindustrial / manufacturing construction projects
- Exposure toMEP systems and building components analysis
- Experience withself-perform estimating and labor productivity
- Strongcollaboration and stakeholder management skills
Work Environment
