ECOM Cameroon Commodities is looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Accountant to support the Finance team with day-to-day accounting activities, transaction processing, reconciliations, documentation, and financial reporting. You will help ensure that accounting records are accurate, complete, properly documented, and maintained in line with company policies and applicable accounting requirements.

About the Role

The Junior Accountant will support the Finance team with day-to-day accounting activities, transaction processing, reconciliations, documentation, and financial reporting.

The successful candidate will help ensure that accounting records are accurate, complete, properly documented, and maintained in line with company policies and applicable accounting requirements.

Primary duties and responsibilities:

·Record and process financial transactions accurately and on time.

·Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.

·Prepare bank and other account reconciliations.

·Support invoice processing and verification.

·Maintain organized accounting records and supporting documents.

·Assist with monthly and annual financial closing activities.

·Support the preparation of financial reports and schedules.

·Monitor outstanding invoices and follow up as required.

·Assist with tax and statutory reporting activities.

·Support internal and external audits by providing requested documentation.

·Identify discrepancies and escalate issues to the Finance Manager.

·Assist with maintaining accurate financial records in accounting systems.

·Perform other accounting duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience

·Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

·2 years of accounting experience is preferred; fresh graduates with relevant internships may be considered.

·Good understanding of accounting principles.

·Knowledge of OHADA accounting standards is an advantage.

·Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

·Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy.

·Good organizational and analytical skills.

·Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

·Strong integrity and confidentiality when handling financial information.

·Must be bilingual and fluent in both English and French, both verbally and in writing.
