Job Description:
Responsible for the procurement and follow-up of materials, equipment, and services required by the production areas, in alignment with the production plan and specific customer requirements within the medical-dental manufacturing sector.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage and monitor daily purchase orders to ensure timely delivery and alignment with production schedules.
- Prioritize purchasing activities based on the urgency and needs of each production line, ensuring uninterrupted manufacturing flow.
- Execute daily planning and purchasing of raw materials, consumables, specialized equipment, and contracted services.
- Administer purchasing operations through the INNOVA system, including order creation, shipment tracking, delivery commitments, and reporting.
- Build and maintain strategic supplier relationships to negotiate optimal pricing and lead times, leveraging consumption forecasts to implement kanban systems and vendor-managed inventory solutions.
- Identify and develop new sourcing opportunities with local and national suppliers to reduce costs and improve delivery performance, contributing to both site-level and global corporate objectives.
- Participate in supplier qualification processes, including strategic evaluation and logistical assessments.
- Collaborate closely with departments such as materials, production, warehouse, and import/export, including coordination with the U.S.-based corporate headquarters.
- Generate and analyze daily, weekly, and monthly reports to track procurement metrics and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain constant communication with the production floor to provide real-time updates on material availability and customer-specific requirements.
Job Requirements:
Education/Experience/Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Information Systems, or Business Administration.
- Basic knowledge of production planning and control processes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Desirable to have at least 65% proficiency in English.
Preferred Requirements:
- APICS certification or completion of APICS modules is highly desirable.
- Experience in regulated manufacturing environments, preferably in the medical or dental device industry.
