NXP is building new teams in Catania to develop high-impact microcontrollers (MCUs) as part of NXP's Intelligent Edge and AI strategy. These teams will bring together a broad range of engineering expertise, spanning analog, digital, and SoC design. With end-to-end product development capabilities located in Catania, we are creating world-class products at a world-class pace.

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Principal SoC Program Manager to join our R&D organization and drive the planning and execution of advanced microcontroller products.

As a Principal SoC Program Manager, you will lead highly effective cross-functional core teams composed of technical experts from multiple disciplines. You will help teams prioritize activities, communicate clearly, influence peers and leaders, and drive accountability across the organization. You will be responsible for maintaining strong project execution discipline, proactively identifying technical risks, and ensuring timely resolution of critical issues.

Your Responsibilities.

  • Drive as design program manager all phases of SoC development projects, from architecture definition through silicon validation and product release.
  • Lead local PM office and help to consolidate strong SoC development flow shared among the entire R&D.
  • Create and maintain project plans, including milestones, schedules, ownership, dependencies, and deliverables.
  • Facilitate project reviews and regular team meetings with global cross-functional stakeholders to drive progress and resolve issues.
  • Monitor project health, drive transparency, and support executive and senior management reporting.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for issue escalation and resolution.
  • Support key technical decision-making processes, architectural reviews, documentation closure, and quality control activities.
  • Ensure teams are effectively executing against project objectives and delivering according to plan.
  • Perform risk assessments and drive mitigation plans to minimize project impact.

Your Profile.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of project management principles and methodologies, including Waterfall and Agile frameworks.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
  • Experience with project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira, or equivalent platforms.
  • Good understanding of semiconductor product development, system architecture, and SoC design flows.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to operate effectively in complex technical environments.
  • Proven leadership and collaboration skills, with the ability to challenge the status quo and effectively switch between detailed analysis and a strategic, high-level perspective.
  • Adaptable and resilient, with the ability to remain calm under pressure and take ownership in ambiguous situations.
  • Experience managing complex semiconductor or SoC development projects from concept through silicon bring-up and production release

As of the date of this posting, the estimated gross annual base salary range for this position in Italy is between 61,000 € and 83,900 € annually. This range is intended as a guideline. Actual compensation may vary based on qualifications, experience, skills, and specific business or organizational needs. This position falls under the applicable National Collective Labour Agreement (Metalmeccanica Industria). Where relevant, the total compensation package may also include additional elements such as annual incentive opportunities and/or equity, along with a competitive benefits package.
