Position Purpose

The Resident Engineer is responsible for the day-to-day supervision and administration of construction works under the project. The role supports the Project Manager / Supervision Team Leader in ensuring that all works are delivered in compliance with contract requirements, approved designs, technical specifications, relevant standards, and project schedules.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise construction activities and monitor contractor performance on site.

• Ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and contractual obligations.

• Review and approve contractor submissions, including work programmes, method statements, materials, and shop drawings.

• Monitor construction progress and proactively identify delays, risks, and implementation issues.

• Verify quantities, site measurements, and contractor payment applications.

• Support the evaluation and assessment of claims, variations, and extension of time requests.

• Ensure compliance with occupational health & safety (OHS) standards and environmental and social safeguards.

• Coordinate with contractors, airport operators, government authorities, and other stakeholders.

• Maintain accurate site records and prepare progress and technical reports.

• Support testing, commissioning, defect rectification, and project close-out activities.

Qualifications & Experience

Education

• Bachelor's Degree inCivil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Structural Engineering, Building Engineering, Airport Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline.
• Master's Degree in Construction Management, Infrastructure Engineering, Airport Planning, Project Management, or a related field is an advantage.

Experience

• Minimum10 years of experience in construction supervision, contract administration, and site management of major building and infrastructure projects, including airport terminals, aviation facilities, commercial developments, transportation hubs, and complex civil works.
• Demonstrated experience in the supervision and delivery ofairport terminal projects, including passenger terminal buildings, concourses, landside developments, utility systems, baggage handling facilities, and associated infrastructure works.
• Proven experience administering construction contracts underFIDIC Conditions of Contract, including contract management, claims assessment, variations, extensions of time, and dispute resolution.
• Strong experience in quality assurance, construction monitoring, stakeholder management, and compliance with international building, engineering, and aviation standards.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary stakeholders, including architects, structural engineers, MEP consultants, airport operators, contractors, and government authorities.
• Experience on projects funded byWorld Bank, ADB, JICA, AIIB, EBRD, or other international financing institutions is highly desirable.
