Duties & Responsibilities:

• Oversee and enforce compliance programs for fire safety, hazardous waste management, and retail safety.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory inspections (Fire Marshal, EPA, OSHA).
• Manage hazardous waste disposal protocols, ensuring proper labeling, storage, and manifesting.
•  Lead, manage, and continuously improve the DC Safety and Compliance Program.
• Conduct regular safety audits, hazard assessments, and incident investigations at the DC.
• Ensure compliance with industrial equipment standards, ergonomics, and material handling safety
•  Drive a proactive safety culture across retail and supply chain operations.
• Lead and facilitate the Safety Leadership Committee to champion safety initiatives.
• Develop and deliver engaging safety training, communication campaigns, and awareness programs.
•  Maintain, update, and analyze EHS metrics and compliance dashboards.
• Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as TRIR (Total Recordable Incident Rate) and audit completion rates.
• Translate compliance data into actionable insights for leadership.
•  Draft, review, and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), safety manuals, and emergency action plans.
• Ensure all policies align with evolving municipal, state, and federal regulations.

• Strong time management and organization skills with an analytical mindset supported by research skills.
• Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from employees and regulatory agencies.
• Ability to foster and maintain collaborative relationships with external agencies and internal business units.
• Interact professionally and efficiently through verbal and written communication with all professional contacts with emphasis on company interests.
• Shows willingness and aptitude to use own discretion in taking appropriate steps in finding solutions to problems; presents options and ideas to enhance current processes or procedures. 
• Takes on additional responsibility when both big and small tasks need to be done.
• Is open to changing situations and opportunities and is willing to perform all tasks assigned.
• Maintains a positive “can do” outlook, rebounds quickly from frustrations and unpleasantness, and maintains composure and friendly demeanor while dealing with stressful situations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience or equivalent education processing and organizing sensitive data requiring strict deadlines; project management.
• Comfortably and confidently uses a computer and specialized software. Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Share Point, Smartsheet’s, etc.
• Ability to perform basic math computation and calculations.
• Some working knowledge of OSHA and its applicability
• Some working knowledge of EPA, RCRA/hazardous waste
• Knowledge of basic regulatory rules and regulations.
