Position: Design Fabrication Technician

Location: Natick, MA

Mission: Supporting the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command – Soldier Center (DEVCOM SC)

Leidos National Security Sector is seeking aDesign Fabrication Technician to join our team and contribute to innovative projects that directly enhance soldier safety, readiness, and mission success.

What You’ll Do

• Design & Fabricate: Participate in the design, development, and fabrication of parachute and shelter components.

• Prototype Development: Create preliminary layouts, execute design details, and fabricate prototypes using knowledge of construction techniques, production methods, and materials.

• Precision Repairs: Repair and modify airdrop and shelter equipment with fine seams and replacement parts that match original strength and quality.

• Support Innovation: Assist engineers and project managers by fabricating experimental/prototype parachutes, cargo delivery systems, shelters, tents, covers, and other soft‑wall structures.

• Collaborate & Interpret: Work from work orders, blueprints, sketches, and verbal concepts, consulting with design draftsmen and engineers to bring ideas to life.

Required Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability withindustrial sewing machines

• Associates Degree with2+ years of relevant experience (Additional Experience, Training, and/or Certifications may substitute degree requirement)

• Ability toread and interpret technical drawings and fabricate products efficiently

• Exceptionalattention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

• Solidanalytical and technical skills

• Ability to workindependently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge ofpersonal parachute systems and assembly (civilian or military)

• Experience followingtechnical manual procedures

• Skills inCAD and/or SolidWorks

• Strongcollaboration, communication, and problem‑solving skills
