Medical Consulting Veterinarian - Small Animal Internal Medicine Specialist

As a Medical Consulting Veterinarian, you will partner with veterinarians across Australia and New Zealand, providing phone-based clinical consultation leveraging world-class diagnostic solutions and technology. In this role:

• You will provide specialist phone consultations to veterinarians regarding IDEXX laboratory results, diagnostic testing and treatment options.
• You will leverage IDEXX Reference Laboratory and Point-of-Care diagnostics to support clinical decision-making and improve patient outcomes.
• You will build trusted relationships with veterinary customers by delivering medically accurate, customer-focused advice.
• You will document consultations accurately within CRM systems to ensure continuity of service and quality outcomes.
• You will manage a consistent consultation caseload while meeting turnaround time expectations and maintaining availability during scheduled hours.
• You will collaborate closely within the Medical Consulting team, and with pathology, laboratory, customer support, and cross-functional teams across IDEXX.
• You will share expertise, contribute to team knowledge, and support a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
• You will participate in team meetings, educational initiatives, and occasional travel opportunities for training and development.

What you need to succeed:

• You hold a Veterinary Science degree recognised in Australia and/or New Zealand.
• You are a board-certified Small Animal Internal Medicine Specialist (ACVIM or ECVIM) or hold an equivalent recognised specialist qualification.
• You maintain registration and credentials required to practise veterinary medicine and maintain Diplomate status
• You bring advanced knowledge and clinical experience in Small Animal Internal Medicine
• You possess exceptional diagnostic reasoning, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• You communicate complex clinical information clearly, professionally, and in an easy-to-understand manner.
• You excel at building trust, rapport, and long-term professional relationships with customers and colleagues.
• You demonstrate resilience, adaptability, sound judgement, and a commitment to continuous learning.
• You have a dedicated office space and comfort working in a remote, technology-enabled environment with high-speed internet.
