
UNIQLO Alterations Specialist (Full-time) - Newport Centre

Hourly Rate: $17.00 per hour

Position Overview:
Clothingalterers,tailors or seamsters are needed to alter pants according to custom specifications and needs. In this position, the Alterations Specialist will use their knowledge of fabrics, sewing,fashion and the marketplacein order to alter pants for customers.
Key Responsibilities:
Sew hem of pants with industrial sewing machine
Trim excess threads using scissors.
Measure, cut and sew hems following seams, edges, or markings on pants.
Alter pants hemlines to fit individual customers.
Working knowledge of sewing machines such as lock stitch, blind stitch, and serge machines
Meet and exceed sales goals.
Maintain brand and operational standards (visual, cleanliness, etc.)
Pro-actively manage customer needs and exceed expectations byutilizing the U.N.I.Q.L.O. service standard, following the Uniqlo Fundamental Principles and saying the 6 standard phrases.
Be knowledgeable of fitting room standards andassist when needed.
Act as cashier when required by following cashier protocol.
Process shipment and ensure all merchandise is represented on the floor in full size runs.
Assist management toidentify and resolve issues in the store.
Provide product and brand knowledge to customers.
Follow all company policy and procedures & notify management of any infractions.
Assist with specialprojects as assigned by management.
Required Skills and Abilities:
Strong communication skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts and percentages.
Ability to stand forlong periods of time, read computer terminals, push, pull, move,lift or carry objects of at least 25 pounds.
Ability to effectively maneuver around sales floor and stockroom, repetitive bending, prolonged standing, twisting, stooping, squatting, and climbing.
Qualifications:
At least six (6) months prior sewing/fitting experience in an alterations or tailoring department
Maintain specified productivity guidelines.
Strong communication skills, fluency in English mandatory
Ability towork a flexible schedule that meets the business needs, including evenings and weekends.
Education/Experience:
High School Diploma or G.E.D., or 6months retail or related experience.
Full-Time Availability Requirements:
Average 32 or more hours per week based on business seasonality.
Open availability on weekends (religious exemptions will be considered).
Restrictions on availabilitylimited to two days per week.
