ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Our client, a leading financial institution in Midtown Manhattan, is seeking an experienced Equity Derivatives Trade Support / Middle Office Analyst for a contract opportunity.
This position will work closely with Front Office Trading and Sales as well as Market Risk, Operations, Settlements, and other global support teams. The Analyst will provide day-to-day trade support across the transaction lifecycle, investigate trade and P&L discrepancies, process lifecycle events, and ensure trades are accurately reflected within Front Office systems.
This is a hands-on role requiring a strong understanding of equity derivatives, trade lifecycle processes, settlements, and Front-to-Back workflows.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Book, review, and modify transactions within Front Office systems as required.
Provide daily trade support to Equity Derivatives traders and sales professionals.
Assist with the calculation and amendment of performance and financing tickets required for settlement.
Book and process corporate actions.
Process expirations, lifecycle events, and other post-trade activities.
Monitor trades throughout the lifecycle and help ensure accurate and timely processing.
Investigate and resolve trade discrepancies by coordinating with Front Office, Operations, Settlements, Risk, and other internal teams.
QUALIFICATIONS
SYSTEMS / TECHNICAL SKILLS
The ideal candidate will bring a strong combination of Equity Derivatives product knowledge and hands-on Middle Office/Trade Support experience. This individual should be comfortable interacting directly with traders and sales professionals, investigating complex trade and P&L breaks, coordinating with global teams, and taking ownership of issues through resolution.

Coordinate with both global and local teams on behalf of the Front Office to resolve trade-related issues.

Partner with Market Risk to investigate and resolve P&L breaks and other valuation or booking discrepancies.

Research trade details and identify the source of breaks between Front Office and downstream systems.

Communicate promptly with counterparties and internal stakeholders regarding outstanding trade or settlement issues.

Maintain and update operational metrics and reporting.

Escalate unresolved issues appropriately and follow through until resolution.

Maintain current procedures and ensure established controls and processes are consistently followed.

Identify opportunities to improve workflows, controls, and overall operational efficiency.

Support an effective control environment that appropriately balances risk management with the needs of Front Office and business partners.

5+ years of Trade Support, Middle Office, or related capital markets operations experience.

Strong knowledge of Equity Derivatives markets and products.

Solid understanding of the complete trade lifecycle from execution and booking through confirmation, lifecycle events, settlement, and reconciliation.

Experience investigating and resolving trade discrepancies and breaks.

Understanding of P&L and the ability to assist with investigation of P&L breaks.

Experience working directly with Front Office traders and sales professionals.

Ability to coordinate effectively across Operations, Market Risk, Settlements, and global support teams.

Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven trading environment.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.

Sophis experience strongly preferred.

Summit application experience is a plus.

Experience working with Front Office trade booking and risk systems.
