Role Description
This position provides support to the Equity Derivatives trading desk, focusing on Structured Products and Exotic Derivatives such as autocallables, barrier options, and volatility swaps. The candidate should have a thorough understanding of Equity Options, Futures, Swaps, and complex derivatives. Attention to detail, risk awareness, and a strong grasp of exotic Greeks and model risk are essential for maintaining a robust control environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Daily P&L Reporting & Analysis: Conduct flash-to-actual analysis, reconcile front-to-back processes, attribute detailed P&L, verify manual adjustments, and perform balance sheet attestation.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with various teams like trading, Treasury, and IT to address booking and valuation issues, focusing on complex lifecycle events.
- Process Improvement: Contribute to process enhancement projects, including automation of exotic P&L workflows and implementation of strategic solutions.
- Funding & Financing: Analyze funding charges and assess the impact of structured product collateral dynamics.
- Manual Adjustments: Evaluate and address manual adjustments, including model reserves and valuation adjustments for illiquid exotics.
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor junior team members, fostering knowledge of exotic products and control practices.
- Deal Review & Structuring Support: Analyze deals and oversee reviews conducted by the offshore team.
- Controls & KRIs: Ensure effective control measures through KRI metrics, focusing on model risk and market data quality.
- Month-End Close: Finalize books, reconcile P&L to the General Ledger, and complete financial reporting schedules.
Experience / Qualifications / Education
- 8โ10 years in Equities-focused Product Control, with 4โ5 years in Structured Products and Exotic Derivatives.
- Strong knowledge of exotic derivative pricing models, Greeks, and model risk.
- Familiarity with structured/exotic product lifecycle events.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a quantitative field; CFA, CPA, or FRM preferred.
- Experience in managing and developing junior staff within a global team.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with excellent prioritization skills.
- Effective communication skills for explaining complex P&L drivers to senior stakeholders.
- Proactive team player with attention to detail and dynamic operational capability.
