THE ROLE
As Equip Associate Director, you help equip people to know Christ, grow in Christ and live for Christ together. You report to the Equip Director and lead the day-to-day work of Equip classes and events, so every class runs smoothly and every teacher is set up to succeed.
You help lead four teams with 41 team spots: Class Leaders, Welcome (hospitality and greeters), Facility team (Set Up, Tear Down & Tech), and Equip Events. Together the team runs three 10-week semesters of Sunday classes (289 registrations last year), Equip Events (6 events a year including Leadership Weekend, the Global Leadership Summit and Night to Shine).
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Run three class semesters on Sunday afternoons, including registrations, set-up plans that change each semester, Equip Kids childcare, attendance and class materials. Most semesters have about 6-8 classes that run simultaneously
- Own the class communication process: “what to expect” emails before class, “we missed you” follow-ups, and post-class emails with next steps
- Recruit, train and develop class teachers through Excellent Teacher Training and the apprenticeship process (“I do, you watch… you do, I watch”)
- Help evaluate teachers through post-class surveys, class observations and post-semester one-on-ones, working toward 10 excellent teachers
- Help launch new classes, such as Singles & Dating, God and Money and Parenting, and evaluate classes with low enrollment
- Lead the Equip Events team for Men’s, Women’s and Parents’ Nights, the Homecoming retreat, Leadership Weekend, the Global Leadership Summit and Night to Shine, with a leader and focus group for each event
- Lead the team and help run the monthly orientation and quarterly huddles
- Carry out the semester marketing plan with the Communications team, including a heavy push 2–4 weeks before launch, bookmarks in weekend services and stories in promo emails
- Keep the Equip standard operating procedure and Asana projects current so the department can be replicated year after year
