Lead Epidemiologist

US-Based Subject Matter Expert | CNS, Infectious Disease & Real-World Evidence

About the Opportunity

Advanced Recruiting Partners is conducting a confidential search on behalf of a well-established, global life sciences organization supporting clinical development and real-world evidence initiatives.

We are seeking a highly experiencedEpidemiologist to serve as a senior scientific subject matter expert and provide epidemiological leadership across complex, multidisciplinary research programs. This position will work across study design, literature reviews, statistical planning, scientific communications, client engagement, and mentoring.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide scientific leadership for epidemiology projects, including protocols, study design, implementation plans, and literature reviews.
  • Guide the selection of statistical methodologies, risk identification and mitigation strategies, interpretation of results, and study reporting.
  • Develop manuscripts, conference presentations, publications, and other scientific materials.
  • Serve as a technical and scientific point of contact for clients and stakeholders.
  • Present research findings to clients, scientific audiences, and at industry conferences.
  • Provide technical expertise on complex initiatives and independently lead smaller, technically focused projects.
  • Help shape scientific strategies and contribute to significant research and development initiatives.
  • Mentor and coach junior epidemiologists and other scientific team members.
  • Support business development activities and contribute scientific expertise to new study opportunities.
  • Work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams in a client-facing environment.
  • Remote position with approximately 5–10% travel.

Qualifications & Experience

  • MD and/or PhD in Epidemiology, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 10+ years of relevant epidemiology experience.
  • Strong experience inCNS/neurological or psychiatric diseases, such as Parkinson's disease, dementia, epilepsy, ALS, depression, or related therapeutic areas.
  • Training or professional experience inpharmacoepidemiology preferred.
  • Experience supporting large epidemiological studies, including interventional clinical trials, is highly desirable.
  • Experience withHEOR and/or real-world evidence, particularly utilizing electronic health record or other large healthcare databases, is a plus.
  • Prior experience within aCRO, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or life sciences organization strongly preferred.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex scientific concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong business acumen and demonstrated leadership experience.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of independently managing complex scientific projects.
  • Demonstrated technical expertise in epidemiological methodologies and/or relevant disease areas or pathogens.

Ideal Profile

The ideal candidate is asenior epidemiology leader with strong CNS expertise, experience working in a CRO or sponsor environment, excellent client-facing skills, and the ability to translate scientific strategy into high-quality research and deliverables.
