The EPC Project Coordinator (PC) is responsible for end‑to‑end execution of EPC Projects from purchase order receipt through project closeout and warranty. EPC stands for Engineering Procurement & Construction. This role serves as the primary point of coordination and communication between customers, factories, and internal cross‑functional teams to ensure projects are executed accurately, on schedule, and in compliance with contractual and documentation requirements. Though not a technical expert, a project’s success is directly tied to how effective the PC is with coordinating all functions to complete deliverables; there is no Project Manager overseeing success on the Experitec side of the project. Our project partners will often have a Project Manager the PC will work closely with.
The Project Coordinator owns project execution processes, proactively manages risk (including liquidated damages), maintains financial and system accuracy, and ensures all commercial and technical documentation is delivered on time. This role is execution‑focused, not administrative, and plays a critical part in customer satisfaction, margin protection, and project success.
Opportunities to make an Impact:
Owning the end‑to‑end EPC project execution lifecycle from purchase order receipt through project closeout, ensuring contractual, financial, schedule, and documentation obligations are met.
Interpreting contracts, purchase orders, and the Schedule of Submittals (SOS) to confirm scope, inclusions, exclusions, documentation requirements, and delivery commitments.
Establishing, maintaining, and ensuring accuracy of project data across IFS, SharePoint, DocBoss, and other supporting systems, maintaining audit‑ready and traceable records.
Developing and managing the project execution plan, delivery schedule, and SOS, ensuring alignment across internal teams, suppliers, factories, and customers.
Coordinating and leading internal and customer kickoff meetings, along with ongoing project‑specific meetings, to align responsibilities, execution strategy, and communication cadence.
Collaborating closely with Program Managers, Application Engineers, Drafters, Shop Technicians, Suppliers, Emerson Project Management (external team), and other stakeholders to ensure timely, complete, and accurate deliverables.
Proactively identifying execution, documentation, schedule, and liquidated damages risks; escalating issues with recommended mitigation actions to protect schedule, margin, and customer commitments.
Coordinating procurement and manufacturing activities including order commitments, shop order creation and tracking, supplier communication, expediting, inspections, equipment releases, and delivery milestones.
Tracking manufacturing progress, inspections, shipping releases, packing lists, milestone invoicing requirements, and customer delivery updates to ensure delivery schedules are met.
Leading and supporting documentation execution by confirming requirements, managing revisions, tracking submittal approvals and returns, and ensuring all commercial, technical, and quality documentation is accurate, version‑controlled, and submitted on time.
Ensuring documentation reports, expediting needs, and system data remain accurate and up to date throughout the project lifecycle.
Serving as the primary owner of change order management, coordinating revised purchase orders, schedules, documentation, and financial impacts while clearly communicating changes to customers, factories, and internal stakeholders.
Ensuring financial accuracy in IFS, including milestone invoicing coordination, revenue recognition support, and monitoring financial impacts related to schedule, documentation, or scope changes.
Providing proactive, clear, and consistent communication on project status, risks, delivery commitments, documentation progress, and financial impacts.
Ensuring all contractual deliverables are completed, formally accepted, and closed in accordance with project and retention requirements.
Facilitating lessons learned and project closeout activities, including documentation archiving and knowledge transfer.
