KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Team Leadership & Supervision
- Staff Management: Monitor staff productivity and scheduled task completion daily, evaluate the performance of EVS technicians and report performance issues/challenges to Director of EVS.
- Scheduling: Assist EVS Director in the Monitoring and adjusting of daily shift schedules, vacation rotations, and specific area assignments to guarantee full facility coverage.
- Performance & Quality Control: Direct day-to-day workflow, assist staff in hands-on-support of duties, track, monitor, and record audits, daily rounding & inspections of patient rooms, common areas, restrooms, corridors, and other inpatient & outpatient departments, maintain high-quality cleanliness standards. Ensure all cleaning processes align with organizations health guidelines and hazardous chemical protocols such as OSHA, CDC, and DNV.
2. Operations & Supply Chain Management
- Inventory Control: Monitor, track, and order & stock chemical cleaning agents, linens, personal protective equipment (PPE), and standard facility supplies as assigned by Director of EVS.
- Equipment Upkeep: Coordinate the maintenance and proper care of heavy cleaning equipment like floor buffers, industrial vacuums, and carpet extractors.
- Financial Oversight: Assist the Director of EVS in the management of cost controls concerning labor hours, inventory use, and overall departmental budgets.
3. Safety & Infection Control
- Hazardous Waste Management: Oversee the proper collection, transportation, and disposal of biohazardous waste and sharps.
- Safety Training: Conduct routine training sessions with staff regarding Bloodborne Pathogens, proper chemical dilution, ergonomics, new or existing equipment.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILL/ABILITIES:

- Ability to read, write and speak English preferred.
- General knowledge of sanitation in a hospital and clinical setting.
- Ability to interview potential employees.

MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education–High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Work Experience– Entry level management role, one to three years prior cleaning experience in a health care or institutional setting preferred.
Training– Optional but preferred:Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Technician (CHEST)
- License/Certification–
ENVIROMENTAL CONDITIONS:Work environment consists of daily patient contact, which may include exposure to blood, or other body fluids.
