Enterprise Architects bridge business strategy and technology, shaping internal initiatives and client engagements in Goteborg through onsite collaboration. You define target architectures and transformation roadmaps, guiding delivery teams and stakeholders to balance business value, cost, risk and maintainability. The role spans technical selling, client-facing projects and alignment to specific accounts based on business priority. You independently lead architecture for business domains or transformation initiatives, working with leaders, product teams, solution architects and specialists to ensure decisions align with enterprise direction. This position matters because it drives sustainable technology choices that support organizational growth.
Responsibilities
- Translate business goals into capability assessments, architecture requirements and prioritized transformation roadmaps
- Assess the current business, application, data and technology landscape; define target and transition architectures that address dependencies and legacy constraints
- Identify opportunities to simplify application portfolios, reduce duplication and technical debt, and reuse enterprise capabilities
- Guide architecture decisions across initiatives, maintaining principles, reference patterns, decision records and clear governance for exceptions
- Work with delivery teams from discovery through implementation, reviewing designs and resolving cross-system dependencies and architectural risks
- Address security, privacy, resilience and regulatory requirements with relevant specialists, balancing delivery needs with enterprise standards
- Facilitate stakeholder workshops and architecture reviews, communicate trade-offs clearly and mentor solution architects and technical leads
- Support client discovery and technical proposals with feasible solution options, vendor assessments, estimates, risks and business cases, including total cost of ownership
- Assess where AI can support business capabilities and advise on data readiness, integration, security and governance in collaboration with AI specialists
Requirements
- Ten years of relevant IT experience, including three years in enterprise, domain or solution architecture within complex organizations
- Experience leading architecture for at least one transformation initiative spanning multiple systems or business functions, from assessment and target design through implementation
- Practical experience in business capability and process mapping, application portfolio assessment and development of target architectures and transition roadmaps
- Strong understanding of integration patterns, APIs, data architecture, cloud and hybrid environments, and non-functional requirements such as security, scalability, and resilience
- Ability to apply enterprise architecture frameworks and modeling tools pragmatically, producing clear diagrams, standards and decision records that teams use in delivery
- Business and financial judgment to compare technology options, assess vendors, and explain cost, benefit, risk and return-on-investment trade-offs
- Strong communication and facilitation skills in English, including client workshops and discussions with senior business stakeholders; ability to build agreement across teams without formal authority
- Working understanding of privacy, regulatory and industry requirements, with experience translating them into architecture decisions alongside relevant specialists
- Working understanding of enterprise AI and generative AI use cases, limitations and key architecture considerations, including data privacy, human oversight and integration with existing systems
Nice to have
- Experience in federated enterprises or regulated industries
- Exposure to evaluating or integrating AI-enabled enterprise products or supporting an AI adoption initiative
- Relevant architecture or cloud certifications, such as TOGAF or ArchiMate; equivalent applied experience is equally valuable
- A degree in technology or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience
