About the role
We are looking for an experiencedEnterprise Architect to join a strategic architecture and transformation initiative withinCorporate & Investment Banking (CIB).
In this role, you will work closely with senior technology and business stakeholders to define target architectures, assess complex technology landscapes, and drive strategic decisions around applications, platforms, data, integration and modernization.
This is ahands-on architecture role. We are looking for someone who can analyse complex environments, challenge existing approaches, develop target-state options and turn architectural decisions into clear, actionable recommendations.
What will you do?
- Definedecision-ready reference and target architectures for priority CIB capabilities, including capability decomposition, target building blocks, architecture principles, data and integration patterns, and transition considerations.
- Work closely withCIOs, Domain Technology Heads and senior business stakeholders, challenging existing architectures, inherited constraints, local variations and investment assumptions.
- Analyse current application and platform landscapes to identifyduplication, fragmentation, obsolescence, dependencies, risks and opportunities for consolidation.
- Translate architecture decisions into clear application-level recommendations, such asadopt, consolidate, migrate, selectively invest, contain or retire, including dependencies and transition sequencing.
- Assessbuy, build and reuse alternatives, evaluating market maturity, comparable CIB adoption, integration fit, vendor lock-in and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
- Prepare and leadarchitecture decision forums and domain working groups, presenting options, trade-offs, recommendations, required decisions and open dependencies.
- AssessEUCs (End User Computing) and AI-enabled local solutions within the target architecture, defining appropriate classification, controls, ownership and transition paths.
- Translate architecture decisions intofundable initiatives, contributing to preliminary business cases, expected benefits, complexity assessments, risks and investment planning.
- Collaborate with global and cross-domain teams to ensure alignment between strategic architecture and business transformation objectives.
What are we looking for?
Mandatory requirements:
- 8+ years of professional experience in technology architecture, enterprise architecture or technology transformation.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in CIB / Wholesale Banking. Experience in this sector is mandatory.
- Proven experience definingreference architectures, target architectures and/or transition states in complex technology environments.
- Experience in at least one of the following areas:
- Application landscape rationalization
- Platform consolidation
- Technology modernization
- Strong understanding of current-to-target assessments and their implications across areas such as:
- Applications
- Data
- Integration
- Cloud
- Resilience
- Cybersecurity
- Ability to engage withsenior technology and business stakeholders, constructively challenge existing approaches and clearly communicate architectural recommendations.
- English: minimum B2 level, ideally C1, with professional fluency in both written and spoken English. You will be required to prepare and present recommendations, lead meetings and collaborate with global stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree inEngineering, Computer Science or a related field.
Nice to have
- Strong knowledge of a majorCIB domain or transversal technology platform.
- Experience leadingglobal or cross-domain transformation initiatives.
- Experience assessingbuy / build / reuse alternatives, market solutions and TCO.
- Experience working withlarge-scale application portfolios and producing decision-ready architecture materials.
- MBA or postgraduate qualification inFinance, Technology Management or a related field.
