A Day in the Life

Medtronic Cardiac Surgery is global technology leader in this therapeutic space with a strong commitment to improving lives with continuous innovation. Cardiac surgery represents end stage treatment in the care continuum for many cardiovascular diseases and this operating unit provides an intimate relationship with the Cardiac Surgeon and Cardiac OR by offering an unparalleled depth and breadth of portfolio.

This position is remote to enhance our competitive edge and expand our cross-functional collaboration efforts. This role will require 70% travel to enhance collaboration and ensure successful completion of projects.

You will be primarily responsible for the East Coast with emphasis on markets with a high concentration of vascular surgery training programs, academic medical centers, vascular surgery trainees, early-career physicians, and major regional or national vascular surgery conferences.

         

         

This field-based role will develop and strengthen relationships with vascular surgery training programs and identify educational needs and connect customers with relevant Medtronic resources, including hands-on product education, Medtronic Academy & YES curriculum, regional and national training programs, conference engagements, travel scholarship opportunities, and transition-to-practice resources.

Primary Responsibilities:

Trainee & Academic Program Engagement

  • Establish a strong understanding of the vascular surgery training landscape within the assigned geography, including training programs, trainee rosters, graduating physicians, academic centers, and educational needs

  • Partner with training programs and internal stakeholders to identify appropriate opportunities for Medtronic educational support

Education & Technology Exposure

  • Coordinate and support opportunities for residents and fellows to receive education and appropriate exposure to Medtronic Aortic therapies, technologies, clinical evidence, and procedural education

  • Partner with local Medtronic teams to facilitate product in-services, simulation activities, case sizing and planning education, Medtronic Academy resources, and other approved educational programs

  • Promote and support participation in the Young Endovascular Specialists (YES) curriculum and other Medtronic Academy educational offerings

  • Identify educational gaps and communicate customer insights to the broader Training & Education team to inform future programming

Early Career & Transition to Practice

  • Build relationships with graduating trainees and early-career vascular surgeons as they transition from training into independent practice

  • Maintain continued engagement with emerging physicians following graduation to strengthen long-term educational partnerships.

Conference & Regional Program Execution

  • Represent and support at priority national and regional conferences, particularly those concentrated along the East Coast

  • Support educational activities, workshops, simulation programs, dinners, meetings, and other approved engagements associated with key conferences

  • Partner with the national team, local field teams, faculty, and meeting-planning partners to support the successful execution of regional trainee education programs

Cross Functional Collaboration

  • Serve as a strategic resource to Medtronic field team; district managers, sales reps, clinical specialists, and ambassadors to strengthen local trainee engagement

  • Provide field teams with visibility to trainees approaching graduation and facilitate effective handoffs as physicians transition into new practices

  • Help field partners understand and appropriately leverage national Trainee & Early Career resources within their accounts

  • Partner closely with U.S. & Global Training & Education, Medical Education, Medical Science, Marketing, Faculty Relations, and other internal stakeholders

  • Collaborate to ensure consistent strategy, messaging, processes, and customer experience across U.S. regions

Data, Tracking & Insights

  • Partner with internal teams to support accurate trainee records, engagement tracking, graduate destinations, and handoff information

  • Track educational engagements and program participation to help evaluate reach, effectiveness, and areas of opportunity

  • Share regional customer insights, educational needs, emerging trends, and best practices with the national Trainees Education & Early Career team

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent with 8+ years of relevant experience in a clinical lab setting, clinical training, field sales/support in medical device, healthcare industry or equivalent-OR-Associate's Degree with 6+ years experience-OR- Bachelors Degree with 4+ years experience

  • Ability to travel throughout the assigned geography and nationally as required (approx. 70%)

  • Experience developing and maintaining professional relationships with healthcare professionals, physician learners, academic programs, or healthcare organizations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of vascular surgery, endovascular therapies, aortic disease, or related cardiovascular specialties

  • Experience supporting physician education, residency programs, fellowship programs, or transition-to-practice initiatives

  • Demonstrated experience coordinating cross-functional projects and customer-facing programs

  • Strong written, verbal, presentation, organizational, and relationship-management skills

For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$87,200.00 - $130,800.00

 

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuitionassistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).
