Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute long AMOS and stores projects, traveling across the fleet for uniform implementation..
  • Identify issues and areas of improvement associated with AMOS system and implement solutions.
  • Manage the efficient implementation of new AMOS procedures as needed.
  • Actively identifies cost-savings opportunities.
  • Develop and establish the best Deck and Engine store keeping practices across the fleet.
  • Identify stores operation enhancement opportunities and implement processes accordingly.
  • Drive the cycle count process for Deck and Engineering stores to validate AMOS quantities against actual physical inventory.
  • Oversee the process of reviewing and updating the manufacturer name and reference information for spare parts and consumables in order that an alternative vendor can be identified to supply the product at a more favorable cost.
  • Drive the process of consolidating common items and purging duplicates.
  • Promote good housekeeping practices within the Deck and Engineering stores as well as associated annexes.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce onboard inventory whilst still meeting operational needs. Reduce ‘frozen’ capital.
  • See that component and stock information in AMOS is accurate.
  • Initiate procedures to confirm that data loaded in the AMOS system adheres to the established policies and conventions.
  • Provide support to major projects such as dry-docks as required.
  • Provide continuous training and support to Deck and Engineering stores teams so as to establish and maintain processes relative to:
  • Accountability for inventory control of entire Engineering stores.
  • Timely and accurate receiving of purchase orders in AMOS system.
  • Re-ordering stock items below minimum quantities on a timely basis.
  • Receiving stores onboard related to the respective department.
  • Verifying vendor deliveries are as per requested specifications.
  • Updating AMOS system stock quantities in timely basis.
  • Restricting stores area access to authorized personnel only.
  • Verifying that all stock withdrawals from the stores have proper requisition details.
  • Verifying that all stock requests related to warranty claims are properly logged against the correct work-order number.
  • Verifying that all shipyard supply items are logged into AMOS with corresponding warranty claim number.
  • Preparing manifest with accurate information for goods to be offloaded.
  • Performing all administrative tasks related to Deck and Engineering stores operation
  • Verifying that stock quantities on the shelf and within AMOS are as per approved min/max levels.
  • Assisting Deck and Engineering officers with requisitioning and budget control as well as setting-up new components and stock items in AMOS.
  • Working with Purchasing Buyers to resolve Request for Quotation (RFQ) issues.
  • Working with Logistic Expediters in tracking overdue Purchase orders.
  • Maintaining correct standards of stock securing in line with heavy weather routines.
  • Monitoring and recording of all PPE related items (boilersuits, safety shoes, etc) issued to Engineering Officers and Crew.
  • Responsibilities for conducting weekly chemical, lube oil and gas inventories.
  • Verifying that new chemicals have been approved and SDS is available in Safetec prior to purchase and or receipt onboard.
  • Emergency Duties as specified in the ship Assembly Plan.
  • SMS – uphold the general safety management responsibilities in areas and operations under their control.

Basic Qualifications

  • Have previous relevant experience
  • Be genuinely interested in a career at sea and willing to live and work onboard a Disney Cruise Line vessel
  • Be committed to the position you are applying for at least 2-3 contracts before a transfer or promotion
  • Be willing to follow and perform safety role, emergency duties and/or associated responsibilities as specified in the ship Assembly Plan
  • Be willing and able to uphold the general safety management responsibilities specified in the Safety Management System in areas and operations under their control
  • Be willing to follow and embrace United States Public Health requirements and guidelines as well as Environmental requirements and Company practices
  • Be willing to share a cabin with other crew members and appreciative of working and living in a multi-cultural environment
  • Be comfortable living in a confined space with strict rules and regulations
  • Adhere to a structured lifestyle, personally and professionally

Additional Information

This is a SHIPBOARD role. 
You must: 
  • Be genuinely interested in a career at sea and willing to live and work onboard a Disney Cruise Line vessel 
  • Be willing to follow and perform safety role, emergency responsibilities, and associated responsibilities as specified in the ship Assembly Plan 
  • Be willing to uphold the general safety management responsibilities as specified in the Safety Management System in areas and operations under their control 
  • If applicable, be willing to share a confined cabin with other crew members and appreciative of working and living in a multicultural environment that has strict rules and regulations 
Your Responsibilities: 
  • Have a valid passport and C1/D Seaman's visa (DCL will provide you with documents to obtain this) 
  • Complete a pre-employment medical 
  • Obtain a criminal background check 
  • Bring approved work shoes 
**Disney Cruise Line is a drug-free workplace. All new hires are required to undergo drug/alcohol testing within the first week onboard and throughout their contracts. Failure to pass the drug/alcohol testing will result in immediate termination.
