Title - Engineering Project Manager
Location - Remote (35% travel requires)
Production Solutions clients hire them on a contract consulting basis because they lack in-house engineering staff. Most work is brownfield: new lines, line enhancements and automation projects inside existing plants. Some greenfield work too, such as building a new warehouse and installing and commissioning all its equipment.
Must-haves
- 5+ years of PM experience leading capital projects in a manufacturing environment. Realistically 7 to 10+; candidates near 5 get rejected often.
- Paper or food and beverage industry experience, with paper weighted heaviest. Plastics or chemical alone has not gotten traction despite being listed.
- Hands-on equipment work: industrial line installations, machine installs, commissioning, line enhancements, automation.
- Led multi-discipline teams (electrical and controls, mechanical, structural, power). They need to drive the project with those engineers, not do the technical work.
- Stable history: roughly 2+ years per employer.
