Not enough detail in this posting to match
Imagine this. You are helping build the electronic foundation behind advanced aerospace and defence systems, making sure every component, symbol, footprint, and schematic detail is accurate before it reaches hardware.
As an Engineering Intern, you will work hands-on with Altium Designer and support our electronics engineers in creating and maintaining high-quality PCB design data. This is an opportunity to move beyond university projects and work with real engineering hardware where precision and attention to detail matter.
At Destinus, we are revolutionizing the defense industry with cutting-edge Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). Our innovative technologies are designed to meet the unique demands of modern defense operations, delivering unparalleled speed, precision, and cost effectiveness. Destinus partners with government agencies and defense organizations worldwide to provide advanced solutions for mission-critical operations, enabling a new era of efficiency and technological superiority. Join us in shaping the future of defense with groundbreaking aerospace innovations.
What You'll Do
- Create, review, and maintain electronic components, schematic symbols, footprints, and library data in Altium Designer
- Read schematics and component datasheets to ensure design data accurately reflects manufacturer specifications
- Support engineers with PCB design activities and help maintain clean, consistent, and reliable component libraries
- Check existing components for errors, inconsistencies, and missing information before they make their way into hardware
- Help improve library management, component validation, and engineering workflows
- Use scripting and automation where useful to make repetitive checks faster and more reliable
- Currently studying toward a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field, or recently graduated
- Hands-on experience with Altium Designer through university projects, personal PCB designs, or previous internships
- Comfortable with schematic capture, library editors, and creating your own symbols and footprints
- Ability to read schematics and datasheets, with a solid understanding of packages, pinouts, passive components, and common ICs
- Strong attention to detail and a structured approach to technical work
- Good written and spoken English
- Experience with Altium 365 or another managed library environment is a plus
- Familiarity with IPC-7351 footprint standards is an advantage
- Basic Python or similar scripting experience for automation and bulk checks is a plus
- Exposure to component lifecycle or obsolescence management is an advantage
Who You Are
You are curious, precise, and hands-on. You enjoy getting into the details and understand that a tiny mistake in a component library can become a very real hardware problem later. You work methodically, ask questions when something does not look right, and are excited to learn from experienced engineers while taking real ownership from day one.
