About the Role
Our client is seeking an Employment & Labor Associate Attorney (1st–3rd year) to join its fast-paced Employment & Labor practice in Reston, Virginia or Washington, DC.
This role is ideal for an attorney with experience in employment counseling and compliance matters, particularly involving statutory and regulatory compliance, executive employment arrangements, separation agreements, and employment-related issues arising in mergers and acquisitions. The position offers the opportunity to work closely with sophisticated clients on a broad range of employment law matters while developing expertise in both counseling and transactional support.
Key Responsibilities

Advise clients on a wide range of employment law matters, including:

Employment policies and practices

Statutory and regulatory compliance

Workplace risk management
-
Employee relations issues
-

Draft, review, and negotiate:

Executive employment agreements
-
Separation and severance agreements
-
Employment-related policies and documentation
-

Support employment-related aspects of:

Mergers & acquisitions
-
Corporate transactions
-
Due diligence reviews
-

Counsel clients regarding federal, state, and local employment law compliance requirements

Conduct legal research and prepare client-facing guidance on employment law developments

Collaborate with corporate, litigation, and other practice groups on multidisciplinary matters
Required Qualifications

1–3 years of employment law experience

Strong experience in:

Employment counseling
-
Statutory and regulatory compliance
-
Executive employment agreements
-
Separation and severance agreements
-

Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills
-
Strong written and verbal communication skills
-
Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously

Strong academic credentials from a nationally recognized law school

JD degree required
