Employment & Labor Associate Attorney (1st–2nd Year)
About the Role
Our client is seeking a junior associate to join its Employment & Labor practice group in New York. This role is ideal for an attorney with 1–2 years of employment law experience who is interested in developing a practice spanning both employment counseling and employment litigation.
The position includes significant day-to-day client counseling responsibilities, including advising clients in New York and Florida, as well as supporting employment-related aspects of M&A transactions. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working directly with sophisticated clients in a fast-paced law firm environment.
Key Responsibilities

Advise clients on a broad range of employment law matters, including:

Employment policies and practices

Workplace compliance issues

Employee relations matters

Support employment litigation matters, including:

Legal research

Drafting motions and briefs

Discovery support

Case strategy development

Assist with employment-related aspects of:

Mergers & acquisitions

Corporate transactions

Draft and review:

Employment agreements

Separation agreements

Employment policies and related documentation

Collaborate with cross-functional legal teams on client matters

Manage multiple assignments while maintaining high-quality work product
Required Qualifications

1–2 years of employment law experience

Experience or demonstrated interest in both:

Employment counseling

Employment litigation
-

Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

High level of motivation, initiative, and professionalism

Strong academic credentials from a nationally recognized law school

Admitted to the Florida Bar, or eligible and willing to seek admission to the Florida Bar
