Embedded Software Engineer

Payrate: $54.00 - $56.00/hr.
 
Summary:
This role involves supporting SATS maintenance and Command for Dozing (remote control) Cadence on Large Track Type Tractors (LTTT). The position is crucial for advancing autonomy and automation in our technology journey, expanding existing autonomy to other models.
 
Responsibilities

• Develop software by coding in C at the application level to ensure the RC/Autonomy system functions effectively on Dozers.
• Work within the SATS/CfD workstream, collaborating with other Software Developers and Systems Engineers to deliver releases and resolve issues.
• Report to the Domain Architect, who serves as the lead software expert, and coordinate with the Technology Project Manager (TPM) who oversees the project and budget.
• Primarily office-based with occasional support required at Proving Grounds.

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a relevant field.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a related role.
• Internships may be considered if they involve co-op or master's research lab experience; summer internships are not sufficient.

• Proficient in C programming.
• Experience in automation and robotics.
• Proficiency in unit testing, SIL testing, and using tools like Canape or CANalyzer.
• Familiarity with Ethernet tools such as Wireshark.
• Knowledge of construction equipment is a plus.
• Experience in robotics or automation is advantageous.

 
Pay Transparency:The typical base pay for this role across the U.S. is: $54.00 - $56.00 /hour. Non-exempt positions are eligible for overtime at a rate of 1.5 times the base hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of 40 in a work week, or as required by state or local law. Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education and experience. Full-time employees are eligible to select from different benefits packages.
