We are looking for an experienced Embedded Firmware Engineer to work on MCU RTOS integration, Board Support Package (BSP) customization, firmware development, and hardware-software integration. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in board bring-up, RTOS porting, device driver integration, and firmware customization for Qualcomm, NXP, and Infineon platforms. The role involves enabling hardware interfaces, integrating firmware features, debugging system-level issues, and maintaining firmware and BSP releases.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Review hardware designs, schematics, and Hardware-Software Interface (HSI) specifications.
- Customize and update MCU RTOS firmware based on hardware design requirements.
- Configure and enable essential drivers and services, including power management, UART, SPI, I²C, CAN, Ethernet, MCU-to-SoC communication, and diagnostic services.
- Integrate firmware features and modules developed by cross-functional teams.
- Perform firmware debugging, integration testing, and issue resolution.
- Build, validate, maintain, and release MCU firmware versions.
- Review hardware schematics, HSI documents, and platform specifications.
- Customize vendor-provided BSPs by updating hardware configuration files and drivers.
- Configure and integrate GPIO, I²C, SPI, display, and nonvolatile memory (NVM) partition tables.
- Perform end-to-end driver integration, board bring-up, and hardware-software validation.
- Configure build environments, compile firmware/BSP images, and flash updated images onto target boards.
- Enable and validate debugging interfaces, including JTAG, UART, and Ethernet.
- Configure startup scripts to ensure the correct initialization of drivers and system services.
- Troubleshoot boot, initialization, peripheral, and integration issues.
- Maintain source code repositories, manage BSP releases, and prepare detailed release notes.
- Collaborate with hardware, software, validation, and system engineering teams to ensure successful platform integration.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in embedded firmware development, BSP customization, RTOS integration, or board bring-up.
- Strong hands-on experience in RTOS porting, firmware customization, and hardware-software integration.
- Experience working with Qualcomm and/or NXP processors and Infineon microcontrollers.
- Practical experience in BSP development, device driver integration, hardware configuration, and platform validation.
- Experience with firmware build systems, flashing tools, debugging utilities, and software release management.
