Embedded C++ Software Engineer

PGS Worldwide is seeking Embedded C++ Software Engineers in Maple Grove, Minnesota for a one-year onsite contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. These positions will develop embedded, hard real-time software for advanced munitions and weapon-system applications.

Required Skills

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical discipline with 5+ years of experience, master's degree with 3+ years, or PhD with 1+ year.

• Expert-level C++ programming experience.

• Strong object-oriented software design experience.

• Embedded software development experience.

• Experience developing hard real-time applications.

• Experience working with RTOS and/or bare-metal systems.

• Practical knowledge of software engineering and development processes.

• Familiarity with Ethernet communications.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret clearance.

Preferred Skills

• Weapon-system, munitions, or combat-systems software experience.

• Experience with engineering and software-management processes.

• Familiarity with CMMI or similar development-process frameworks.

• Cybersecurity knowledge, including Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Authority to Operate requirements.

• Cybersecurity certification.

• Experience leading technical meetings, discussions, or presentations.

What You'll Do

• Design and develop embedded C++ software for munitions and weapon-system applications.

• Develop software for hard real-time RTOS and/or bare-metal environments.

• Apply object-oriented design principles to embedded software architectures.

• Support multiple program contracts and engineering work directives.

• Collaborate with software, electrical, controls, systems, and program engineering teams.

• Develop software in accordance with established engineering and lifecycle processes.

• Support technical reviews, documentation, integration, and software verification activities.

• Contribute to engineering decisions affecting performance, reliability, and mission requirements.

Pay

• $60.92 per hour.
