Greenwood Memorial Park & Mortuary is looking for a Licensed Embalmer to join our team in San Diego, CA where we offer a passionate and purpose-filled work environment.The Embalmer is responsible for providing skilled and dignified care for the deceased, ensuring each individual is prepared with the highest level of professionalism, respect, and attention to detail. This role combines technical expertise, restorative artistry, and compassionate service to help create meaningful final memories for the families we serve.
Responsibilities
- Performs embalming, disinfecting, dressing, preparing and casketing of the deceased using appropriate precautions and OSHA standards in a manner that honors the deceased.
- Maintains a sterile and safe work environment consistent with company, government and industry rules and regulations
- Ensure proper chain of custody is maintained throughout the preparation process
- Ensures embalming room, dressing areas, hairdressing room, storage areas, and cooler facilities are cleaned, disinfected and secured at the end of every shift and maintained in that manner at all times.
- Completes and enforces all record keeping, identification and casketing procedures
- Consistently maintains reverence and respect for the deceased
Qualifications
- 1+ year of funeral industry experience
- Embalmers License in the state of California or ability to reciprocate
- Basic Computer skills
- Knowledge of professional, municipal, state and federal licensing regulations applicable to the industry
Compensation range of $29-32.50/hr.
