State Street Investment Management (formerly State Street Global Advisors) is seeking anApplication Development Officer to join theGlobal Funds Management (GFM) Engineering team within theChief Operating Officer (COO) organization.
This is ahands-on engineering role where you will help design, build, enhance, and support enterprise-scale applications used by Global Funds Management. You will work closely with experienced engineers, technology partners, and business stakeholders to deliver reliable, modern solutions in a global financial services environment.
The role involvesnew software development as well as ongoingenhancement and maintenance of core GFM applications. We are looking for candidates with strong engineering fundamentals, an interest in financial markets, and the motivation to grow in a collaborative, senior engineering environment.
This role follows ahybrid working model, requiringthree days per week onsite at ourKrakow office.

Key Responsibilities
Act as a hands-on software engineer within a team of experienced engineers, contributing to design, development, testing, and support activities
Analyze, design, develop, test, and debug complex software solutions usingJava, Spring Boot, Python, and SQL
Build and maintain data-driven applications leveragingOracle, PostgreSQL, and Redshift databases
Collaborate closely withgeographically distributed, cross-functional technology and business teams
Provide technical support and troubleshooting for business-critical functions
Ensure high-quality delivery throughunit testing, automation testing, and manual test execution
Contribute toDevOps practices, including automatedCI/CD pipelines and environment setup across Development, QA, UAT, Production, and Disaster Recovery
Explore and applyAI-assisted engineering tools and frameworks to improve efficiency and effectiveness across the enterprise software development lifecycle
Share knowledge with colleagues, contribute to continuous improvement, and support a culture of accountability and engineering excellence
Education & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline; an advanced degree is preferred
Minimum 2–3 years of software engineering experience delivering enterprise applications using Java and/or Python, Spring Boot, and microservices
Experience designing and deploying applications on Amazon Web Services (AWS)
Strong SQL skills and hands-on experience with relational databases
Strong object-oriented design expertise, including design patterns, SOLID principles, and modern engineering best practices
Considered an advantage
Practical experience with AI-assisted engineering tools, such as GitHub Copilot
Minimum Salary:​
zł132 000 AnnualThe minimum salary quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate ultimately works outside of this primary location, the applicable minimum salary may differ.​
Salary will be determined based on factors such as the position, type of work performed, individual skills, job description, working hours, diligence, initiative, self-management, length of employment, availability, and the quantity and quality of work delivered, as well as other objective and non-discriminatory criteria relevant to State Street employees.​
In addition to salary, employees are eligible to be considered for discretionary annual performance-based awards.​
