Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Provide expert-level support in Banner Finance during the pre-conversion phase of a Workday implementation
- Identify, research, and resolve open or problematic grant and project issues in Banner
- Support the timely closeout of sponsored projects in Banner prior to conversion
- Review Banner grant balances, encumbrances, expenditures, and revenue to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Process or support journal entries, cost transfers, budget adjustments, and corrections in Banner as needed for project resolution
- Reconcile Banner grant data to supporting documentation to ensure projects are ready for closeout and conversion
- Assist with resolving legacy issues related to overdrafts, unposted transactions, open commitments, and incorrect coding
- Partner with research administration and finance teams to ensure compliance with 2 CFR 200 and sponsor requirements
- Provide Banner data, analysis, and explanations to support conversion readiness
- Document recurring issues, resolutions, and recommendations to support conversion and future-state processes
- Extensive, hands-on experience using Ellucian Banner Finance, with a strong emphasis on grants and sponsored projects
- Demonstrated experience supporting grant closeout activities in Banner
- Strong understanding of federal grant compliance and post-award financial requirements
- Experience working in higher education finance, contracts & grants accounting, or research administration
- Prior experience supporting aBanner to Workday (or similar ERP) conversion
- Experience cleaning up or resolving legacy financial system data ahead of conversion
Staffing Plan: Full-time for program duration (2+ years) starting as soon as possible.
