Job Description:

Airbus Commercial Aircraftis looking for anElectromagnetic Hazards Lightning Direct Effects Engineer (f/m) to join our team based inToulouse, France. 


You will join the highly specialized, multicultural EMH Lightning Direct Effects team working across 4 European nations on all aircraft programmes and development phases (from R&T to in-service support). 


You will contribute to the next generation of electrified and green aircraft designs by providing technical expertise in lightning direct effects, electrostatic discharge, and electrical bonding.

Your challenges:

  • Influence aircraft architectures and structures to achieve optimized protection against lightning hazards.
  • Analyze system architectures regarding EMH protection and follow up certification activities.
  • Validate design compliance against airworthiness requirements and regulations.
  • Create and analyze requests for laboratory, ground, and flight tests.
  • Drive R&T projects and develop the electromagnetic hazard protection strategy.

Your boarding pass:

  • Background in aeronautical engineering, electrical engineering, physics, or equivalent domain.
  • Experience in lightning direct effects or a closely related field.
  • Experience in laboratory testing and qualification.
  • Ability to work autonomously, as part of a team, with strong communication skills.
  • Negotiation level in English and French.
