Electrical Engineer – Data Center SubstationsÂ
About the PositionÂ
As a mid level Electrical Engineer in the Data Center Substations group, you will be responsible for performing engineering design and analysis under the responsible charge of a Professional Engineer. You will be responsible for supporting client projects and providing a quality deliverable that is on time and within the defined budget.Â
Salary Range:Â $90,000 - $110,000 / yearÂ
The salary range above is based upon the Denver, Colorado labor market. Â
Essential ResponsibilitiesÂ
Performs detailed design on all aspects of substation electrical power systems to include one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, control and relaying schematics, wiring diagrams, SCADA, communications, conduit and cable sizing/routing, grounding design, general arrangement, selection of equipment, writing of equipment specifications, project and construction cost estimates, and project schedulingÂ
Prepares computer-based models and perform power system studies on utility and industrial/commercial electrical power transmission and distribution systems, including short circuit, load flow, relay coordination, arc flash, power factor, harmonic analysis, and other related studies.  Employee should create simple hand checks to quantify the computer aided resultsÂ
Develops protective relay settings. Â
Prepares a variety of documents and reports associated with projects including cost estimates, budget reports, proposals, and studiesÂ
Provides field assistance and troubleshootingÂ
Checks the work of designers, drafters, and field service personnel for general quality and accuracy as requiredÂ
Understands the applications of relevant Codes and StandardsÂ
Assists with client contacts and communication pertaining to specific assignments and meetingsÂ
Other duties as assignedÂ
Must HaveÂ
Education: Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited institution, electric power option preferredÂ
Experience: 1 – 5 years of relevant engineering or field experience Â
Licensure: FE, PE is a plus, but not requiredÂ
Knowledge and familiarity with substation electrical designÂ
Experience with AutoCAD is a plusÂ
Possesses effective written and oral communications skillsÂ
Good interpersonal and people skillsÂ
