As an Electrical Engineer III, you will lead the design, development, and validation of electrical/electronic systems for aerospace and defense projects. You will be responsible for understanding complex circuits, overseeing testing, and ensuring the successful integration of electrical/electronic systems.Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of electrical wiring design and equipment selection for flight test instrumentation applications.
- Oversee the preparation, review, and approval of electrical engineering documentation and drawings (specifications, block diagrams, interface control drawings, wiring diagrams, etc.).
- Provide technical guidance for small team of electrical engineers.
- Plan and execute day-to-day technical tasking to complete deliverables.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to design, integration, and testing.
- Understand applicable system safety considerations, electrical standards, and regulatory standards (RTCA, SAE, IEEE, MIL-STD, FAA, DoD, etc.).
- Support supplier oversight activities including design reviews, test witnessing, and technical coordination meetings.
- Participate and provide oversight in the testing and validation of electrical/electronic equipment and components.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve project objectives. Mentor and train junior engineers, fostering technical growth.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering processes.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 6+ years of experience in electrical engineering or a related role.
- Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
- Dynamic, technical contributor with experience in aircraft electrical/electronic systems and equipment.
- Experience with electrical/electronic system architecture development
- Experience with bench testing, laboratory integration testing, or aircraft-level ground/flight test activities.
- Experience interpreting and working with electrical/electronic drawings (schematics, wiring diagrams, parts lists, etc.)
- Problem solver with ability to work independently and provide guidance to a small team.
- Highly organized, detail-focused, and proactive in addressing technical challenges.
- Capable communicator that is comfortable engaging with technical, programmatic, and customer audiences.
- Position requires the ability to obtain/maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Strong understanding of aerospace and defense industry standards and practices.
- Knowledge of avionics data bus protocols and integration testing tools (e.g., ARINC 429, ARINC 664/AFDX, MIL-STD-1553 analyzers).
- Familiarity with FAA certification processes, including STC.
- Familiarity with configuration management processes.
- Familiarity with Electromagnetic Effects (EME) to include Compatibility (EMC) and Interference (EMI).
- Familiarity with design requirements related to High Intensity Radiated Field (HIRF) and Indirect Effects of Lightning (IEL).
- Exposure to simulations through functional and logical models and electrical/electronic system analysis.
- Experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) electrical applications, particularly CATIA Electrical for wiring design
- Exposure to circuit modeling, simulation, and analysis.
- Exposure to an Electrical Load Analysis (ELA).

- Clearly convey technical information, design specifications, and project updates to team members, stakeholders, and management.
- Ability to understand technical documents, electrical/electronic schematics, and electronic instrument measurements.
- Ability to handle small components, tools, and equipment with precision.Â

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $71,338.47 - $98,090.40. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors, such as candidates' key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications.
