We are seeking a highly motivated Electrical Engineer 1 to join the Computing Products Hardware Department within the Displays, Computing & Networking Directorate. Our team develops advanced hardware solutions for products and systems used for data concentration, advanced I/O processing and application hosting, and synthetic vision for military, commercial, business, and regional aircraft platforms. In this role you will perform activities that span and support all phases of the hardware development lifecycle, including requirements capture, design, integration, verification, factory transition and product sustainment.

What You Will Do:

  • You will support products at all phases of the product lifecycle (design & development, transition to production, factory support, service support).

  • You will support circuit board designs involving complex microprocessor and FPGA architectures including schematic capture, part selection, simulation, and troubleshooting activities.

  • You will obsolescence resolution activities.

  • You will implement/support designs that are optimized for a balance of cost, manufacturability and testability. 

  • You will implement/support designs that are in strict compliance with DO-160 and DO-254 standards.

What You Will Learn:

  • You will mentor with experienced engineers and have access to Collins Aerospace Communities of Practice and network of Fellows/Subject Matter Experts.

  • You will gain experience in all aspects of the hardware development lifecycle.

  • You will gain experience with complex hardware designs and avionics systems.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) major obtained by start date.

  • Experience in a lab environment performing hands on troubleshooting with engineering test equipment.

  • Experience with schematic capture of digital/analog mixed-signal circuit designs.

  • Experience with computer hardware architecture, components, and design characteristics.

The salary range for this role is 57,200 USD - 108,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
