Electrical Engineer (3615)

Summary

This position is responsible for the electrical design, development and improvement of new and existing HVAC products. A successful candidate will possess a strong knowledge of NFPA 70 and single/3-phase electrical circuit design and safety.

Job Responsibilities andDuties

• Design electrical circuits for compressors, motors, VFDs, etc. that comply with NFPA70
• Work with other engineers and designers in the design and optimization ofproducts.
• Work with manufacturing on the shop floor to resolve designissues.
• Train others on the proper techniques used in the electricalfield.
• Work as a member of NPD teams in the electrical design of NewProducts

Qualifications

Skills andQualifications

• 2 years of experience designing electricalsystems.
• Electrical Engineering Degreerequired.
• Strong knowledge of NFPA 70 Code book isdesirable.
• Knowledge of UL508A Industrial Control Panel standards isdesirable.
• AUTOCAD/SolidWorks or similar experience isrequired.
• Proficient in Microsoft OfficeSuite.
• Ability to generate wiring diagrams for single or 3-phasesystems.
• Knowledge of how to properly size OCPDs isdesirable.
• Knowledge of the electrical tap rule for sizing conductors isdesirable.
• Ability to size conduit per conductor sizing isdesirable.
• Ability to select components to comply with SCCR ratings isdesirable.
• Knowledge of explosion proof Class1 Div 1 & 2 electrical requirements isbeneficial.
• Ability to make edits to parts, assemblies and drawings created byothers.
• Experience working with plant partners or tradesmen on troubleshooting an electrical issue or install electrical circuits is desirable.
• HVAC experience isdesirable.
• Experience in a low volume high mix manufacturing environment isdesirable.
• ERP experience isdesirable.

WorkEnvironment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Some of the work will require exposure to loud noises or fumes in the plant facility.

This is a largely sedentary role; however, this position could require standing or sitting for long periods of time, or traveling long distances to meet with customers.
