· Review electrical schematics, panel layout drawings, wiring diagrams, and bills of materials (BOMs) for accuracy, manufacturability, and testability, and flag discrepancies to engineering.
- Fabricate or form parts and structures according to specifications, using drills, calipers, cutters, or saws.
- Utilize small hand tools such as wire strippers, crimpers, wrenches, screwdrivers, and pliers.
- Use good judgement when dimensions or tolerances seem inconsistent or unworkable. Confer with supervisors or engineers to plan, review, or clarify work activities or to resolve assembly or production problems.
- Drill or tap holes in specified equipment locations to mount control units or to provide openings for components, wiring, or instruments.
- Mark up drawings and bills of material to document the “as built” final product.
- Perform necessary hand operations such as deburring, grinding & sawing. Operate hand pallet jacks to move material within the plant.
- Install finished assemblies or subassemblies in cases and cabinets.
- Complete point to point wiring, and install a wide variety of electronic components including PLC's, relays, lights, switches, etc.
- Adjust, repair, or replace electrical or electronic component parts to correct defects and to ensure conformance to specifications.
- Work with minimal supervision once work assignments are given and explained. Ask questions to obtain sufficient instruction to perform assigned tasks.
· Maintain test equipment, fixtures, hand tools, and calibration schedules to keep systems audit-ready.
· Drive process improvements in panel assembly and test methods to increase throughput, reduce defects, and improve first-pass yield.
· Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to resolve technical issues and support design-for-test initiatives.
· Support inventory control by verifying components, wire, terminals, and panel hardware against BOMs.
· Ensure compliance with workplace safety policies, lockout/tagout, and electrical safety practices (e.g., NFPA 70E awareness).
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities & reading technical publications.
- Work closely with the Assembly Lead Technician to improve and correct assembly times for proper manufacturing engineering documentation.
- Communicates any changes on procedure or assembly structure to engineering in order to ensure complete and correct engineering documentation.
- Has panel wiring and building experience and strong mechanical skills and aptitude.
- Has experience in reading and interpreting schematic drawings.
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in electrical wiring field
- Strong attention to detail
- Proficient in basic math skills
