Salary: $70,000–$100,000/year; Based on experience
Locations: Near Davenport, IA; Rockingham, NC; Seminole, OK; Williams, CA (On-site)
Education: Bachelor's degree in Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field required, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience: Manufacturing experience required
Industry: EHS compliance experience within a manufacturing environment required
Language: Bilingual English/Spanish preferred

Our client is seeking EHS Specialists for four manufacturing facilities across the United States. These on-site positions are responsible for implementing and supporting Environmental, Health, and Safety programs at the facility level while partnering closely with operations, human resources, and site leadership.

The EHS Specialist will serve as a local resource for environmental and workplace safety requirements, helping ensure regulatory compliance, maintain accurate records, deliver employee training, and continuously improve site EHS programs. This role requires someone who can communicate effectively across all levels of a manufacturing organization and confidently provide guidance on safety and environmental matters.

Responsibilities of the EHS Specialist will include:
  • Coordinate with site teams to implement the EHS program and related policies.
  • Audit theeffectiveness of site EHS programs, including participation in the annual corporate audit.
  • Provide EHS training to site personnel.
  • Maintain required safety and environmental records.
  • Maintain workers' compensation files andinvestigate workplace incidents.
  • Generate required internal and externalEHS reports.
  • Execute site inspection programs related to safety and environmental regulations.
  • Accompanystate, federal, and local regulatory inspectors during facility visits.
  • Respond to inquiries or complaints from employees, customers, and regulatory agencies.
  • Serve as the site's local expert on EHS requirements and provide guidance to the leadership team.
  • Partner cross-functionally withoperations and human resources on safety and environmental initiatives.
  • Support multiple facilities and corporate or nationwideEHS projects as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications for the role of EHS Specialist:
  • Bachelor's degree in Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field and 2 years of manufacturing experience required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience managing compliance within a manufacturing facility operating under a Title V Air Permit.
  • Experience managing a Respiratory Protection Program and Hearing Conservation Program.
  • Familiarity with Powered Industrial Truck safety and NFPA 70E Electrical Safety.
  • Knowledge of applicable environmental, health, and safety regulationsand safe work practices.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiplepriorities, establish goals, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbalcommunication skills.
  • Ability topresent informationandconduct trainingfor groups of employees.
  • Strong attention to detailand ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and Excel.
  • Ability to work effectively withemployees and leadership across multiple functions and organizational levels.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish skills preferred.
