Job Description

Teledyne LeCroy Inc. develops leading-edge test and measurement products. Engineering teams around theworld use our systems to develop next generation communication, consumerelectronics and computer products.  

We are looking for a Field Application Engineer to join our Protocol SolutionsGroup Team based inMilpitas,California. 

This exciting opportunity will typically expose and involve the candidate incutting edge product andstandards development for new products and technology years before it reaches the consumer market. The role will primarily supportcustomersusing Teledyne LeCroy’s leading-edge test and measurement products fordevelopment andtestingof HDMI,DisplayPort andother Video Protocols. The candidate will work with many teams including marketing, sales,engineering, and validation asrequired. Through hands-on learning, studying technical specifications, internaltraining and mentoring, we will aimto develop yourexpertise to become one of the elite gurus inVideo protocols and Teledyne LeCroy test instruments.  

Position Summary and Responsibilities 

• Provide support to customers using Teledyne LeCroy test and measurement equipment. 

• Near real-time forUS based customers; remote or onsite as needed internationally 

• Assist customers with pre- and post-sales technical support queries via email,phone, and on-site troubleshooting. 

• Utilize understanding of protocols and Teledyne LeCroy products to help debug real-world problems. 

• Engage inHDMI Forum, VESAand DisplayPortComplianceWorkingGroup calls and testing events. 

• Provide product demonstrations and protocol training webinars. 

• Generate and review product documentation for customeruse-cases. 

• Contribute to sales presentations,showcasingproduct technical features and processes. 

• Build lasting customer relationships to gain constructiveproductfeedback for improvinguser experiences. 

• Collaboratewith Engineeringand Validation teamsto recreate customer test environments for reproducing and troubleshooting issues found in the field. 

• Document and communicatecustomer requirements withEngineering to develop customizedsolutions. 

• Gather field data, document findings, and prepare detailed reports on project status, technical issues, and corrective actions. 

• Work withinand adhere toorganizational and government trade compliance policies and practices. 

Preferred candidates would have:  

• Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation)in English.  

• Strong analyticaland proactiveproblem-solving skills. 

• High attention to detail while performing daily tasks such as documenting,troubleshooting and communicating. 

• Ability to obtain necessary documentation to travel domestically and internationallyfor customer visits and industry events. 

• Education level:  Degree or higher: BSEE/BSCS,bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Electronics/ electrical engineering / relevant discipline, or equivalent combination of education andjobexperience. 

• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to different job sites. 

• Ability to work independently or as part of a team. 

• Technical customer support and/or B2Bsales experience. 

• Experience inbasic coding (such as Python,C# or TCL) for scripting automated software. 

Idealadditional skills/background:  

• Knowledge anddebugexperienceinvarious USB generations,protocols and associated standards. 

• HDMI(2.2 and earlier) 

• DisplayPort(2.1 and earlier),eDP 

• USBPower Delivery (2, 3) 

• Thunderbolt (4, 5) 

• DisplayPort Alternate Mode and Tunneled DisplayPort 

• MIPI C-PHY/D-PHY 

• Legacy Video technologies (DVI/SDI/VGA/Analog) 

• Comfortable interfacing with customers and being part of the Sales processface-to-face or remotely. 

• Basic understanding of computer networking configurations and protocols. 

• Experience using test instruments (e.g. compliance testers, packet sniffers, signal generators/analyzers). 

• HDMI, DP and/or MIPI Standards Compliance or Validation Testing experience.  

• Strong familiarity with Windows and Mac operatingenvironment. 

• Foreign language skillsideal but notrequired. 

• Good understanding of Salesand productdevelopment cycles, as part of the customer decision-making process. 

• Experience in debugging other Serial-based protocols and interfaces (such as Bluetooth, RS-232, UART and SPI)
