The EDI Senior Analyst owns a defined portfolio of complex EDI implementations and operational processes across Levi Strauss Americas (LSA). The role leads customer requirement analysis, solution definition, end-to-end testing, implementation readiness, and post-go-live stabilization; provides senior-level oversight for critical EDI and SAP IDoc incidents; and establishes consistent standards for documentation, controls, reporting, and continuous improvement. The EDI Senior Analyst serves as a regional subject-matter expert, translates technical risks into business impact, and develops team capability through coaching and knowledge sharing.

About the Job

  • Solution and go-live governance: Lead requirements and solution reviews for complex implementations, confirm that mapping, testing, controls, support documentation, and business readiness are complete, and provide the EDI readiness recommendation before go-live.
  • Critical incident and problem management: Lead cross-functional investigation of high-impact or recurring EDI and SAP IDoc incidents, coordinate containment and recovery, document root cause, assign corrective and preventive actions, and verify that agreed actions are completed.
  • Standards, controls, and performance ownership: Define and maintain regional EDI working standards, implementation checklists, support procedures, control points, and performance measures; use trend analysis to identify systemic risks and propose automation or process changes.
  • Subject-matter leadership and capability development: Serve as the regional escalation point for complex EDI topics, coach analysts through implementations and problem solving, review key deliverables, and lead knowledge-sharing activities that improve consistency and operational resilience.
  • Lead Levi Strauss Americas (LSA) new customer EDI implementations and complex changes to existing customer requirements, including requirements gathering, gap analysis, mapping specifications, extensive end-to-end testing, and post-go-live stabilization.
  • Maintain continuous communication with customers and third-party providers throughout implementation and operational support.
  • Coordinate with internal partners across Customer Order Management, Merchandising, Sales, Customer Master Data, AR/Finance, SAP OTC and RTC, Customer Service Center IT, Transportation Managers, Customer Relations Managers, EDI Technical Team, Planning and Analytics, and Wholesale IT, as well as external EDI Technical, Vendor Relations, Buying Office, and Operations partners, to ensure complete understanding and alignment on business requirements.
  • Identify the root cause of daily and recurring transmission errors and drive system and business-process changes to eliminate recurrence.
  • Resolve regional SAP IDoc errors and EDI-related SAP incidents, coordinating escalation and recovery with business and technical teams when required.
  • Perform controlled manual data pushes, including VMI-related activities, when operationally required.
  • Manage maintenance and user requests for Catalogs and Wholesale Vendor Sites.
  • Conduct POS/Velocity research and drive issues through resolution.
  • Lead and support regional VMI implementations and provide claims support.
  • Partner with the Allocation Manager to optimize allocation and order fulfillment, and monitor allocation and delivery due dates to ensure alignment with business requirements.
  • Assist the Order to Cash team and perform order-management activities as needed.
  • Analyze operational and order-fulfillment data, identify trends or gaps, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
  • Prepare reporting and analysis for key business partners, including size selling, order reconciliation, and product distribution recommendations.
  • Develop performance reporting for operational and management purposes, clearly communicating insights, risks, decisions, and follow-up actions.
  • Drive process improvement and automation opportunities that reduce manual effort, increase reliability, and strengthen controls.
  • Document processes, solutions, known issues, and support guidance to strengthen operational resilience and knowledge continuity.
  • Provide training and practical guidance to users on EDI-enabled business processes.

About You

  • Demonstrated experience with EDI systems, analysis, design, and support, including X12 and EDIFACT transaction sets.
  • Comprehensive working knowledge of SAP EDI, including IDocs, relevant transaction codes, data flows, and EDI setup concepts.
  • Experience reading and interpreting EDIFACT messages such as PRICAT, ORDERS, ORDRSP, DESADV, INVOIC, SLSRPT, and INVRPT, and X12 transactions such as 850, 855, 856, 810, and 860.
  • Experience with EDI customer onboarding and implementation delivery, including requirements gathering, gap analysis, mapping specifications, testing, cross-team coordination, and post-go-live support.
  • Experience supporting daily Order to Cash EDI processes, including SAP EDI and mapping issue resolution, root-cause analysis, issue tracking, escalation, and problem resolution.
  • Understanding of Customer Service and Order to Cash business processes.
  • General understanding of common EDI communication protocols, including AS2 and SFTP.
  • Familiarity with technical testing protocols and processes, development tools, code-management concepts, testing, and performance tuning.
  • Knowledge of processes, practices, and terminology in at least one relevant area such as Retail, Manufacturing, Logistics, Planning, or Allocation.
  • Ability to independently lead complex implementations and operational investigations across business, customer, provider, and technical teams.
  • Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills, with the ability to distinguish symptoms from root causes and translate findings into sustainable improvements.
  • Clear stakeholder communication, including the ability to explain technical topics in business language, manage expectations, and escalate risks appropriately.
  • Ability to prioritize competing operational and project demands while maintaining quality, documentation, and follow-through.
  • Proactive ownership, sound judgment, attention to detail, and a collaborative approach to working across functions and regions.
  • Ability to coach colleagues, share knowledge, and contribute to consistent team practices without formal people-management responsibility.
