Supplier Quality Engineer
What you will do
Within Johnson Controls’ Data Center Solutions group, you will play a key role supporting Supplier Quality. You will monitor supplier performance,execute Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) andProduction Part Approval Process (PPAP) for new and modified parts/components, drive daily supplier quality issues to closure, analyze supplier issues across Silent-Aire plants, and track supplier cost of poor quality and initiate supplier chargebacks.

How you will do it
Work closely with theplant Quality Engineers to address supplier issues.
Coordinate the isolation and containment of suspect supplied material.
Manage the return materials process to suppliers.
Coordinate the sorting/rework activities with the suppliers.
Communicate across the North American plants todetermine the top five issues and worst performing suppliers for transfer to Corporate Supplier Quality.
Work with suppliers to ensure that effective root cause and preventive actions are provided for supplier issues.
Review and approve supplier corrective actions.
Monitor key KPIs relating to supplier issues (i.e. responsiveness, repeat issues, etc.).
Develop receiving inspection strategies based on critical components defined by the DFMEA (design failure mode and effect analysis) process and past supplier performance.
ExecuteAdvanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) for new and modified parts/components according to JCIprocedures and standards.
Participating with the corporate Supplier Quality Team toevaluate new and existing suppliers.
What we look for
Required:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other technicaldiscipline.
3 years’ experience within supplier qualityengineering(SQE)and/or assurance (SQA).
Proventrackrecord using structured problem-solving methodologies to resolve manufacturing and systemic issues.
Effectivelyoperate in cross-functional teams.
Ability to communicate with multiple cultures/regions.
Up to 30% business travel (domestic and international).
AIAGCore tools working knowledge (APQP, FMEA, PPAP, SPC, MSA,Control Plan).
Exhibit ahigh-level of self-motivation,sense of urgency and comfortable making recommendations across broad teams.
Strong communication skills withdemonstrated ability to construct and present information to a wide range of audiences internally and externally and to handle conflictproperly.
To be comfortable in demanding accountability from peers when needed, be open toreceiving constructive feedback and react togetting better.
Familiarity with reading/Interpreting Engineering drawings and understanding GD&T, CAD software.
Experience with ISO 9001.
Preferred:
Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other technicaldiscipline.
ASQ Certified CQE.
Structuredproblem-solving training/certification (Lean/Six Sigma training,Green or Black Belt, Red X/Shainin).
Formal training/certification in AIAG Core Tools.
Formal Auditor training/certification.

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $85,000-$117,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
