College Success Coach

Reports To: Vice President for Enrollment Management     
FLSA:  Non-Exempt 

            
SUMMARY:   
To develop and maintain contact with prospective students in order to assist them withnavigating the college admissions process, financial aid, first-year transition, and enrollment andre-enrollment efforts. This will be accomplished with relationship building with not onlyprospective students but also high school and college staff and administrators.

  
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following. Other duties maybe assigned.  
1. The Coach will devote a majority of their time to the ECU campus helping first year students complete a successful first year experience and return as sophomores and working at Ada Public Schools and Noble Public Schools to assist students with postsecondary plans. 
2. The Coach will greet and assist with students on their assigned campus when a college tour from one of our 13 GEAR UP schools’ visits ECU. 
3. The Coach will assist the OK GEAR UP Site Director in making sure Ada Public Schools and Noble Public Schools Seniors have a completed FAFSA on file. The Coach will assist ECU campus GEAR UP students when FAFSA help is needed. 
4. The Coach should visit with all Ada High School and Noble High School Seniors in a presentation setting at some point during the students Senior Year. 
5. The Coach will complete all required OK GEAR UP training with OK GEAR UP Coaching Program and complete required data entry. 
6. The Coach will answer to the OK GEAR UP Grant Administrator regarding GEAR UP activities and report to the assigned ECU Supervisor regarding campus policies and procedures. 
7. The Coach will attend meetings and trainings as required by their ECU Supervisor and keep the 
ECU supervisor updated on activities, absences and off campus work. 
8. The Coach is an employee of ECU and should strive to foster good relationships on campus and assist in the overall positive work of the campus, which in turn assists GEAR UP in OKC. 
9. The Coach is required to attend the monthly general staff meeting of OK GEAR UP in OKC. 
10. The Coach should assist the OK GEAR UP Site Director in making sure OK Promise students at 
Ada and Noble Schools complete their mandatory paperwork before the deadline during their senior year. 
11. The Coach should support the Ada and Noble Schools Concurrent enrolled students and encourage post-secondary continuance of education. 
12. The Coach will be on a team with Coaches from SEOSU, NSU, ECU, UCO and SWOSU. 
13. The Coach is not an ECU exclusive recruiter, but certainly may encourage students as to the value of the ECU opportunities. 
14. The Coach is a general promoter of all Oklahoma Public Colleges.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 
Required: Bachelor’s Degree  
Preferred: Experience working in a college or school setting with knowledge of college admissions, financial aid, and enrollment processes.
