Helping Families with Young Children: ECMHC Family Support Specialist

What You Will Do
- Build Authentic Relationships: Connect directly with families receiving Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation (ECMHC) services, building trusting, strengths-based working relationships.
- Collaborate for Success: Partner with ECMHC Consultants, early education and care providers, and parents to help implement, monitor, and adjust individualized success plans.
- Bridge Essential Resources: Help families navigate, identify, and access critical community supports—including public school referrals, housing assistance, WIC, DTA, mental health services, after-school care, and summer programs.
- Foster Inclusive Environments: Assist in cultivating welcoming team dynamics where families and early education and care providers feel comfortable, supported, and valued.
- Flexible Delivery: Work in a dynamic hybrid environment across childcare centers, family homes, community locations, and remote settings.

We are seeking empathetic, community-minded individuals who understand the realities of raising a young child. As someone with lived experience as a parent or caregiver, you know firsthand how vital a strong support network is. You excel at working collaboratively, listening without judgment, and empowering families to advocate for their children’s growth and well-being. This is a part-time position (18 hours/week) based in Berkshire County.

Minimum Qualifications
- Degree: Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Mental Health, Early Childhood Development and/or Education, or a related field (equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience are welcomed and encouraged to apply).
- Licensure: Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle for regional travel.
- Expertise: Strong understanding of early child development, strengths-based approaches, and effective team communication.
- Experience (Highly Preferred): Lived experience as a parent or primary caregiver of a young child who attended an early education and care program, combined with professional experience working with young children and families.
- Key Skills: Ability to work independently and collaboratively, strong organizational and prioritization skills, dependability, and physical stamina to travel across regions and lift up to 30 lbs.

Terms of Employment
- Schedule: Part-time (18–25 hours/week, region-dependent). Offers a hybrid, flexible work setup including occasional scheduled evening meetings or professional development events.

- Berkshire County: 18 hours per week
- Salary Range: $25.00 per hour
- Benefits: Position is not eligible for benefits (<20 hours per week).
