General SummaryThe Development Specialist supports the ECI Program in planning, financial monitoring, reporting, evaluation, and continuous improvement. This position performs budget and program analysis, prepares accurate reports for funding sources, and assists with identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency. The Specialist works closely with ECI Leadership, fiscal staff, program personnel, and other departments to ensure accurate data, timely reporting, and compliance with organizational and funding requirements.

Primary Responsibilities
  1. Assist with the development, monitoring, and analysis of program budgets, expenditures, revenues, projections, and budget variances.
  2. Develop and maintain Excel spreadsheets, dashboards, and other analytical tools to monitor budgets, program performance, service levels, and operational trends.
  3. Assist with preparation and submission of accurate and timely programmatic reports to funding sources using required reporting systems and software.
  4. Assist with budget amendments, financial projections, cost analysis, and supporting documentation as needed. 
  5. Work with program staff/leadership to evaluate workflows, identify operational inefficiencies, and recommend process improvements.
  6. Assist with programmatic, operational, development, and financial analysis of the ECI Program.
  7. Develop professional reports, charts, presentations, infographics, and other materials for program recruitment, community education, funding applications, management presentations, and stakeholder communication.
  8. Protect confidential financial, participant, employee, and organizational information.
  9. Perform all other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Work ExperienceRequired
  • Experience in program quality improvement
Preferred
  • Prior experience in budget development and analysis and program quality improvement in a nonprofit, grant funded, or community-based setting. 
Education/Certifications/LicensureRequired
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Public Administration, Nonprofit Management, or a related field 
Preferred
  • Masters degree in one of the fields as required 
SkillsRequired
  • Excellent computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft; Strong proficiency in Excel is required 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to make presentations and/or educate groups of people on available services;
  • Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with individuals and co-workers at all levels;
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality;
  • Ability to learn new tasks quickly and efficiently;
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Preferred
  • Ability to develop and maintain spreadsheets, formulas, financial worksheets, data analysis tools, charts, and reports.
  • Budgeting, financial analysis, expense monitoring, projections, and variance analysis. 

Physical RequirementsIf a preliminary offer of employment is extended, a physical will be required before the offer can be accepted.  
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, a safe driving record, and be eligible for insurance coverage in the operation of Agency vehicles.
