Software Asset Management Product Owner – Enterprise SaaS

We are seeking an experiencedSoftware Asset Management Product Owner – Enterprise SaaS to oversee and optimize a portfolio of enterprise SaaS applications, including collaboration solutions, productivity applications, and other enterprise-level cloud software platforms.

This position brings togetherSaaS product ownership, IT Asset Management, application administration, security, automation, licensing, and financial optimization. The successful candidate will take ownership of both the business and technical health of assigned SaaS applications, helping ensure they are secure, integrated, compliant, cost-effective, and easy to manage.

The role works across multiple disciplines and partners closely with teams responsible forSecurity, Identity, Procurement, Finance, Enterprise Architecture, Engineering, and Support. A key focus will be establishing strong governance and auditable access controls while using automation, AI, APIs, scripting, and low-code solutions to minimize manual administrative work.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

Product Ownership & Value Delivery | ~35%

• Take ownership of the roadmap and backlog for assigned SaaS applications and/or ITAM technologies.
• Continuously improve operations through automation, process standardization, and effective governance.
• Find the appropriate balance between compliance obligations and business productivity.
• Serve as the central point of communication between business stakeholders and engineering/support resources.
• Develop meaningful measures of success related to application adoption, cost efficiency, and risk.
• Review and assess proposed SaaS solutions before implementation, considering security, technical compatibility, integration requirements, and administrative effort.

SaaS Administration & Security Engineering | ~35%

• Provide hands-on technical administration for enterprise-approved SaaS applications.
• Help ensure applications remain secure, scalable, reliable, and efficiently managed.
• Work with Security, Identity, and related teams to implement and administer:
  • SSO and conditional access.
  • MFA, administrative roles, and SaaS security controls.
  • Automated provisioning/deprovisioning, role assignment, license assignment, and access review workflows.
• Support least-privilege security practices for users, administrators, service accounts, service principals, secrets, and API permissions.
• Manage and automate joiner, mover, and leaver processes so that access remains aligned with job responsibilities, policy requirements, and audit expectations.
• Apply AI, APIs, scripting, low-code platforms, and other automation technologies to reduce repetitive administrative work.
• Create and maintain standards for application administration, administrative ownership, access review frequency, and secure system configurations.
• Provide advanced escalation support for application and access issues beyond the Tier 1 and Tier 2 support levels.

SaaS Financial & Lifecycle Management | ~30%

• Oversee assigned SaaS applications throughout their lifecycle, including onboarding, active management, renewal, and retirement.
• Analyze license utilization, user activity, and spending to identify:
  • Underused software and opportunities to reclaim licenses.
  • Opportunities to modify licensing models and right-size vendor contracts.
• Coordinate renewal readiness with Finance and Procurement using historical usage patterns and projected future demand.
• Maintain accurate SaaS inventory records for applications, license entitlements, users, administrators, and integrations.
• Improve organizational visibility into SaaS spending, utilization, and risk.
• Support internal and external audit activities through license compliance validation and periodic user access reviews.
• Administer governance activities in accordance with established ITAM standards.

Required Qualifications

• At least3 years of experience in SaaS application administration or IT Asset Management, with demonstrated hands-on technical expertise.
• At least3 years of experience configuring, integrating, securing, and administering enterprise SaaS applications, including SSO, API connectivity, and application administration consoles.
• Strong understanding of major software licensing models, including named-user, concurrent, consumption-based, and enterprise agreements.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to combine utilization, entitlement, and spending data into practical business recommendations.
• Experience maintaining reliable configuration and inventory information across multiple systems and using data analysis or system queries to detect discrepancies.
• Demonstrated ability and initiative in using emerging technologies, particularlyAI and automation solutions, to improve operations and decision-making.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of ITAM/SAM solutions and CMDB or application inventory technologies.
• Experience withSAML, OAuth, OpenID Connect, Entra ID / Azure AD, or comparable identity technology.
• Understanding of service principals, APIs and their permissions, Graph-style access models, SaaS security controls, and vendor administration portals.
• Experience automating processes usingAPIs, scripting, Power Platform, or similar tools.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Experience building dashboards or reports usingExcel and/or BI technologies and presenting findings to non-technical stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to operate acrosstechnical engineering, governance, and financial/cost optimization functions.
• Hands-on experience supportingSOX, ITGC, or access review activities.
• Professional certifications related to ITAM, SAM, IT service management, or procurement, includingIAITAM, ITIL, or comparable certifications.
