Hume City Council is seeking an enthusiasticEarly Childhood Languages Educators (Arabic) to join our Early Years Operations team. In this role, you will work collaboratively with early childhood educators, families and children todevelop and deliver a high‑quality Arabic language program that enhances learning through play, exploration and cultural connection.

- 13.5 hours per week, located in Craigieburn
- 31.5 hours per week, located in Craigieburn and Roxburgh Park
What you’ll be doing:
- Develop and deliver a culturally rich and developmentally appropriateArabic language program, incorporating art, music, food, storytelling and play‑based learning.
- Work collaboratively with educators to integrate language experiences that enhance children’s learning and development.
- Establish positive, professional and inclusive relationships with colleagues, children and families.
- Communicate regularly with families and encourage their participation in the language program.
- Document children’s learning using observations, reflection and planning to support high‑quality program delivery.
- Create engaging learning environments and experiences that promote exploration, creativity, problem‑solving and connection to culture.
- Ensure practice aligns with relevant early childhood legislation, frameworks and Council policies.
The skills and experience you’ll bring to the role:
- Qualifications and/or experience in early childhood education (ECT or Diploma strongly preferred).
- Fluent Arabic and English language skills, both written and verbal.
- A solid understanding of VEYLDF and early years pedagogy.
- Strong communication, relationship‑building and collaborative skills.
- The ability to work independently, manage time effectively and use professional judgment.
- A commitment to reflective practice and continuous professional learning.
- A passion for supporting children aged 0–5 years in culturally rich learning environments.
- Current Police Check
- Valid Employee Working with Children Check
- Current First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis & Asthma training (as required under legislation)
- Valid driver’s licence
- Completion of Mandatory Child Protection and National Child Safety Training.Â
