The Associate Gift Planner is part of the Charitable Giving Services team responsible for providing expertise and charitable planning solutions to donors, financial advisors, and organizational endowment partners. These solutions are often integrated within financial and estate planning topics such as retirement distribution, tax efficiency, and wealth transfer. This position will be responsible for providing customer workflow and program support to Charitable Gift Planners through providing charitable gift calculations, corresponding with advisors and donors, and properly recording charitable gifts. The role will also be responsible for documenting and enhancing workflows related to executing planned gifts.

         

          

DUTIES &RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Prepare illustrations, related disclosure materials, and tax packets for life-income producing gifts (charitable gift annuities and charitable trusts). 

  • Partner withCharitable Gift Planners and Consultantson proper legal due diligence to accept charitable gifts.  

  • Leadworkflowsand processes for the teamto ensurecharitablegiftsare processedtimely and accurately. 

  • Be the first line responder for inquiries on charitable planning needs from financial advisors and donors alike. 

  • Serve asa keycoordinator with and partnerto Gift Planners and Consultants oninboundinquiries.  

  • Share our generosity services and offerings story withfinancialadvisors, donors, and endowment partners. 

  • Partner with ThriventCharitable’sServiceOperations Team as needed tofinalize charitable gifts from living and deceased donors. 

  • Learn and effectively use ThriventCharitable’s software, systems, and process software.  

  • Collaborate onprojects to further the missionas needed. 

  • Support and/or develop an environment in which Thrivent employees and colleaguesare focused on continuous improvement, exceptional employee engagement, and an unwavering commitment to our clients. Provideoverviews of ThriventCharitable’s offerings to prospective and current donors, financial advisors, and organizational endowment partners,andsteps on how to execute gifts / grants. Partner closely with Thrivent Charitable teams such as service operations, donor services, andThrivent’s call center professionals, to enhance andoptimize workflowslinked to the end customerexperience. Collaborate with Thrivent Charitable leadership and staff – team projects with shared outcomes of an optimized customer experience. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:  

 Required: 

  • Bachelor’s degreeor3+ years of experience in fundraising or related fields. 

  • Experience working with data management systems. 

  • Demonstratedproficiency with current office technology, including advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and otherprograms. Ability to work on everyday details with an eye towards long-term strategy. 

  • Personal initiative and commitment toa high level of service. 

  • Strong problem solving and creative skills. Ability to exercise sound judgement and make decisions based onaccurate andtimely analysis. 

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a time sensitive environment,maintainattention to detail/quality, and handle confidential information with discretion. 

  • There are no extraordinary physical demands or licensesrequired for this position. 

 

Preferred: 

  • Knowledge of planned giving vehicles, PG Calc,and StellariPhi and/or other core systems.

  •  Ability to work onsite in Minneapolis as needed for team meetings, processing, or other business needs

  • Paralegal or similar experience a plus.

The applicable salary or hourly wage range for this full-time role is $30.71 - $41.55 per hour, which factors in various geographic regions. The base pay actually offered will be determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to, location, relevant experience, skills, and knowledge, business needs, market demand, and other factors Thrivent deems important.
