Veterinary Assistant - Gentle Care Pet Clinic

Located in Long Beach, California,Gentle Care Pet Clinichas proudly served pets and their families since 1997. The small-animal practice provides personalized, compassionate care for dogs and cats, offering services including wellness and preventive care, dentistry, diagnostics and imaging, surgery, and pharmacy support. We are actively searching for aFull-Time Veterinary Assistantto join our team! The ideal candidate will have experience as a Veterinary Assistant and Saturday availability.

Qualifications 

• Experience as a Veterinary Assistant. 

• Strong animal handling skills and knowledge of clinical procedures. 

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills. 
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a clinical environment.
• Reliable and dependable.

Responsibilities 

• Assist the veterinary team with patient restraint, handling, and treatment
• Prepare exam rooms and patients for appointments
• Obtain and record patient weights and basic vital signs
• Assist with collecting and preparing laboratory samples
• Prepare and maintain surgical and treatment areas
• Assist with surgical and dental procedures as directed
• Monitor and care for patients before, during, and after procedures
• Clean, disinfect, and maintain kennels, treatment areas, and equipment
• Administer medications and treatments as directed and within applicable scope of practice
• Assist with radiographs and other diagnostic procedures
• Maintain accurate and timely patient records
• Stock and maintain clinical supplies and equipment
• Communicate patient updates and concerns to the veterinary team

Compensation $20-$24/hr, depending on experience
