Position Overview

Shaw Industries plant SI is hiring a Plant Engineer to direct thefacility’soverallreliabilityprograms ensuring compliance with all regulated and general industry standards.Provide assistance to manufacturing managers in the areas ofreactive and predictivereliability, cost control, energy management, environmentalcompliance, and safety performance. This role is involved inmanufacturing related engineering initiatives that willidentify opportunities to improve quality, lower cost, reduce risk, and increase productivity.Evaluate andestablish maintenance proceduresutilizing Total Productive Maintenance concepts in association with Lean Manufacturing. 

Responsibilities:  

• Leadership, development, and execution of the reliability teamcomprised of 1Maintenance Manager,2 Project Engineers, 2Automation Engineers, 3 Supervisors, 1 Planner, and75 hourly maintenance associates. 

• Implement,monitor andoptimize workplace safety policies and standards 

• Develop and implementthe overall long-term maintenance strategy. Ensure the reliability team executes that plan. 

• Develop and drive results towards key reliability metrics and associated processes 

• Drive continuous improvement in each of the key performance indicatorsidentified for the leading and lagging key performance indicators 

• Maintain peak performance of Plant SI equipment with regards to availability, cost of operation,safety and quality through execution of PM/PDM and repair work 

• Ensure equipment is repaired according to plant priorityin a timely manner meeting quality expectations 

• Coordinate continuous improvement opportunities with Plant Engineer of Continuous Improvement based on reliability team data and experience 

• Ensure reliability team meets training and developmentobjectives to meet or exceed skills and knowledge targets 

• Implement effective planning and scheduling process to ensure maximized efficiency and effectiveness of reliability team 

• Ensure we have an updated Bill of Materials for parts that includes having all the critical spares needed and the correct min/max for parts. 

• Ensure Weave PM executes on loomoverhaul and parts rebuild schedule while meeting quality goals 

• Maintain strong internal customer relationships

Preferred Skills: 

• Must have knowledge of and understand key TPM tools and processes (5S, PM, PDM,Planning/Kitting/Scheduling, RCA, etc.) 

• General knowledge of manufacturing plant support equipment such as chillers, compressors, air washers, coolingtowers and power distribution systems. 

• Ability to communicate effectively with internal customers, contractors, andsupplier both orally and written 

• Ability to coach and support effectively 

• Knowledge of root cause analysis and related process tools  

Requirements:  4-Year Degree 

Preferred: Engineering Degree
