Project Description
E‑learning curriculum designers and digital learning specialists: apply your expertise to make learning more dynamic, engaging, and interactive for Jamaican students.Jamaican students are at risk of falling behind in a rapidly evolving digital world. With limited training opportunities for teachers, scarce digital tools, and a shortage of well-adapted e-learning resources, it’s proven difficult to integrate of technology effectively in schools. The Ministry of Education, Skills, Youth and Information is committed to modernizing instruction so young people are better prepared for the future workforce. Junior Achievement Jamaica (JAJ)—a nonprofit dedicated to youth education in entrepreneurship, work readiness, and financial literacy—is ready to strengthen its capacity to use technology effectively across its programs. JAJ’s flagship Junior Achievement BizTown program gives grade 5 and 6 students an immersive, hands‑on experience in a simulated mini‑city where they learn essential life and workforce skills. To ensure this powerful experience reaches more students and meets modern learning needs, JAJ aims to expand its digital capabilities.
As an E-Learning Curriculum Trainer, you will work alongside educators and program staff to design, deliver, and evaluate digital learning training efforts. You will support the digitization of curriculum, create practical and user‑friendly educational resources, and enhance the organization’s overall use of technology. Through coaching, collaboration, and resource development, you will help educators build confidence with digital tools, elevate students’ learning experiences, and establish sustainable practices that continue long after your assignment ends.
Required Skills
Bachelor's degree in education technology or a relevant field.AND
Two or more years of teaching experience using digital or e-learning tools.
Living Conditions
The Volunteer will live in a private apartment in Kingston. Kingston provides access to essential services and amenities, including banks, supermarkets, restaurants, pharmacies, and medical facilities. Electricity and cellular service are generally reliable, although occasional power outages may occur. Internet access is available either in the home or nearby.Job Highlights

Activities
Conduct training workshops for teachers and staff on e-learning tools and instructional technology.Support curriculum digitization and the development of multimedia learning resources.
Mentor educators in designing and delivering online and blended learning experiences.
Assist with the implementation and management of Learning Management Systems (LMS).
Develop monitoring and evaluation tools to assess the effectiveness of digital learning initiatives.
Collaborate with local partners to adapt global digital learning best practices to the Jamaican context.
Facilitate student-centered digital learning activities and projects.
Provide technical support during digital learning events, workshops, and simulations.
You may also work on additional projects that support the organization’s priorities, such as facilitating digital literacy workshops for adults or supporting summer coding camps.
Training
After a two-week orientation on topics such as health and safety, you will move to an urban community where you will collaborate with JAJ staff to assess the learning needs and develop a work plan in line with the national curriculum.Peace Corps/Jamaica will equip you with Patwa language resources and you may work with a tutor who can help you build basic language skills to connect with the community.
