Job Description:
Essential duties include, but are not limited to:
- Exhibit conduct in accordance with all Gaming Commission Regulations and Seminole Tribe of Florida departmental policies and procedures.
- Oversees the daily operation of the Environmental Services Department, including work assignments, staffing, productivity, and service standards.
- Leads, coaches, and develops EVS Team Members and leadership staff to ensure consistent execution of departmental standards.
- Performs detailed operational inspections to identify cleanliness, service, safety, and process improvement opportunities.
- Establishes and maintains cleaning standards, procedures, schedules, and quality-control programs for assigned areas.
- Monitors daily operations and ensures EVS services are delivered efficiently, consistently, and in accordance with established standards.
- Develops and supports the annual departmental budget and business plan. Monitors expenses, supplies, equipment, labor, and other operational costs to ensure compliance with budgetary guidelines.
- Ensures appropriate staffing levels and scheduling strategies to effectively manage labor costs while maintaining outstanding guest service.
- Interviews, hires, trains, schedules, appraises, coaches, counsels, and supervises directly assigned personnel. Oversees the same for indirect reports.
- Develops, administers, and completes action plans related to Guest Satisfaction, Team Member Satisfaction, operational performance, and financial performance.
- Serves as a key point of contact for guest feedback related to cleanliness and environmental services and ensures timely follow-up and resolution.
- Ensures compliance with administrative policies, procedures, safety rules, health regulations, and applicable sanitation standards.
- Develops Team Members’ knowledge and skills through education, training, coaching, and corrective counseling.
- Selects, trains, coaches, counsels, appraises, and retains direct reports who consistently demonstrate behaviors that reinforce the Company’s Mission and Values of Communication, Integrity, Fun, Respect, Accountability, Passion, and Dedication.
- Demonstrates commitment to assisting in the development of Seminole Tribe members participating in the Tribal Career Development program. When a Seminole Tribe member’s assignment falls within the direct area of responsibility, serves as a mentor/career advisor and provides required progress reports and information.
- Ensures prompt and discreet notification to appropriate management and/or the Ethics Hotline of any observation of illegal acts or internal ethics violations.
- Maintains effective communication and collaboration with Housekeeping, Facilities, Engineering, EVS Front Office, Banquets, and other operational departments as necessary.
- Evaluates cleaning processes, equipment, chemicals, technology, and work methods to identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and Team Member productivity.
- Supports the implementation and utilization of cleaning technology, equipment, automation, and other initiatives designed to improve operational efficiency.
- Ensures proper inventory control, storage, handling, and use of cleaning chemicals, supplies, and equipment.
- Maintains accurate operational records, productivity reports, inspection results, work schedules, and other departmental documentation.
- Promotes positive guest and Team Member relations at all times.
- Maintains a clean, safe, and hazard-free work environment within areas of responsibility.
- Must have a strong understanding of Environmental Services, sanitation, and cleaning processes and procedures within a large-scale hospitality environment.
- Ability to deliver a service level that creates an atmosphere that makes guests want to return, giving each guest a positive and memorable entertainment experience.
- Demonstrates a commitment to routinely go above and beyond in the accomplishment of position responsibilities to achieve organizational goals.
- Must present an image of excitement, enthusiasm, and professionalism while maintaining a positive and approachable demeanor.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Hospitality, Facilities Management, Environmental Services, or related area of study preferred.
- A minimum of five (5) years of management-level experience in a large-scale, high-quality hospitality, hotel, casino, healthcare, or similar environment, with experience overseeing a large operational department. Four Diamond or above hospitality experience preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Proven track record of delivering excellent Guest Service Scores and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and service.
- Demonstrated ability to lead quality-improvement initiatives and develop action plans addressing guest experience, cleanliness, service, productivity, and operational opportunities.
- Strong knowledge of commercial cleaning processes, sanitation standards, cleaning chemicals, equipment, and best practices.
- Preferred background with the following systems: Microsoft Office Suite, LMS, Kronos, HOT SoS, and MMS. Strong Microsoft Excel skills preferred.
- Must have excellent attention to detail and be extremely organized.
- Excellent listening and communication skills required.
- Must possess excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage labor, productivity, supplies, equipment, and departmental expenses.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop Team Members and supervisors in a fast-paced, high-volume hospitality environment.
- Commitment to routinely go above and beyond in the accomplishment of position responsibilities in an effort to contribute to organizational goals.
- Ability to use good judgment in a confidential setting.
Work Environment:
Duties and responsibilities are typically performed in a professional office setting and throughout the property. The role requires significant time in operational areas, including the Casino Floor, guest areas, back-of-house areas, offices, and other areas assigned to EVS.
While working on the Casino Floor, the employee may be exposed to casino-related environmental factors including, but not limited to, secondhand smoke and excessive noise.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
