Dynatrace Consultant – Professional Services

About the Role

We are looking for aDynatrace Consultant to join our Professional Services team. In this client- and stakeholder-facing role, you will configure, implement, and optimize theDynatrace Unified Observability Platform across cloud, hybrid, and on-premises environments.

A key focus of this position is the implementation, configuration, and customization of theSAP observability, helping engineering and operations teams improve application performance, reduce mean time to resolution (MTTR), and establish a mature observability practice.

You will work independently on well-defined customer engagements while collaborating with senior architects on complex observability initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Customize and maintain PowerConnect dashboards, log-processing configurations, and metric-extraction rules based on customer SAP landscapes and business processes.
• Onboard applications, infrastructure, and cloud workloads acrossAWS, Azure, and GCP, including Kubernetes and Docker environments.
• Design, develop, and maintain custom dashboards, alerting profiles, workflows, and analytics usingDynatrace Query Language (DQL) andGrail.
• Monitor application performance and availability and lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis usingDavis AI causal insights.
• Configure and optimizeSynthetic Monitoring, Real User Monitoring (RUM), Application Performance Monitoring (APM), and Log Monitoring.
• Conduct observability health assessments and architecture reviews and provide actionable recommendations based on industry best practices.
• Integrate Dynatrace with ITSM and collaboration platforms such asServiceNow, Jira, and Slack.
• SupportOpenTelemetry and distributed-tracing initiatives across microservices architectures.
• Collaborate with Product Development and Product Support teams to improve system functionality, reliability, and observability capabilities.
• Lead customer and internal enablement workshops, technical training sessions, and operational review meetings.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, implementation guides, configuration standards, and operational runbooks.
• Mentor junior consultants and contribute to internal observability standards, methodologies, and best practices.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree inComputer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 1–3 years of experience in Application Performance Management (APM), observability, IT infrastructure, or a related technical field.
• At least1 year of hands-on experience implementing and administering Dynatrace or comparable APM/observability platforms.
• Practical experience with at least one major cloud platform:AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience with containerization technologies such asDocker and Kubernetes.
• Working knowledge of one or more programming or scripting languages, such asJava, .NET, Python, or JavaScript.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems, microservices, and modern web application architectures.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex performance and availability issues.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical findings into business impact for non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with architects, engineers, customers, and cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Dynatrace Certified Associate orDynatrace Certified Professional certification.
• Prior consulting, client-facing, or project management experience.
• Familiarity withOpenTelemetry, Grail, DQL, and Davis AI-driven anomaly detection.
• Experience with SAP environments, includingSAP S/4HANA, ECC, BW, PI/PO, and HANA.
• Experience withPowerConnect or similar SAP-to-observability integration solutions.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such asJenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI/CD.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code technologies such asTerraform or Ansible.
• Exposure to relational database technologies such asOracle, SQL Server, or DB2.
• ITIL Foundation certification or familiarity with IT service management processes
